Ok Chaps, ive dug this kit out.
This 944 conversion kit is to install a GM LS series engine into a 944.
The kit is based around a renegade kit from the USA. However the renegade kit is based around a left hand drive car. What you see here will assist with doing it to a right hand drive car.
Most of what you need is here. The kit was test fitted to a 944. The only things that were not completed was connecting the manifolds to the exhaust and installing a wiring harness and ECU. Do bear in mind that the actual work was done 10 years ago and my memory is poor. So i don't remember all the details.
What you see is what you get.
The manifolds were really a mock up and are not that pleasant to look at, though you could use them as they are.
Its fair to say, the sump is a poor piece. Its also been modified to clear the right hand drive rack assembly.
Also included is a GM ECU for the earlier engines that run a 24X reluctor wheel. Suits 2004 and earlier style wiring. ECU uses a red and blue plug. There is NO wiring harness. You can get one of these from Speartech or Painless in the USA. Just 3 wires to connect to the car to get it to run.
If you are looking for a complete kit with every nut, bolt and washer, this isnt for you. As a starting point to get your engine into the car, its a great start.
Difficult to put a value on it, but i reckon £450 is a good deal. Just the new GM parts would cost that.
