Just want to gauge interest in this car as having to sell it is a tough decision. It was owned by my grandad since new in 1963. It was stored in a garage from some time in the 1970s until about 2015, when I discovered it existed. I brought it home because, aside from the flat and patchy paint, it looked solid - there's a bit of rust but it's actually a really decent shell. The floors are perfect and the interior is in good nick as well.
The reason it went off the road in the 70s was a head gasket failure so I took the engine out and sent it off to be rebuilt. I also changed the clutch while access was easy, and changed the brake pads on all corners and put new discs on the front.
I'm not sure if everything is there, but there are plenty of parts included. A new exhaust will come with it, but I haven't fitted it. I also have some other bits including spark plugs, rebuild kits for the carb and brake/clutch cylinders etc.
Lots of bits are only on there finger-tight to make it easier to transport (needs a trailer). So it's not running or usable but is much closer to being a restoration project than a spares car.
When grandad died I lost the will to carry on with it. I'd love to see it restored still, but it's not really my kind of car and maybe someone else will be able to get some enjoyment out of it. I'd rather it go to someone who will bring it back to life but have no way of ensuring that sadly.
Would be keen to hear any offers but as I've spent several thousand on it with the rebuilt engine and other parts I'm thinking £1,500. That's about half of what I spent on it.
