I've never been in this position in my life and its equally daunting and really exciting at the same time. Next week my Trekker will be painted, I take absolutely no credit for its current condition, it's been lovingly brought back from a rust bucket to basically a new vehicle, it's why I bought it. So, whilst I fully get the 'it's your car paint it what colour you like' I'd love some input from like minded individuals, to help it will not be going Red as I dislike red cars, and it won't be going a crazy lime green or tango orange. I'm aiming for a timeless colour if possible, I'll be looking on pre67 for inspo too Suggest away please

I think that photo is heavily filtered, if anyone can photoshop colours to give me an idea of end result I'll happily pay for their time too.

A 1970’s yellow, the car says look at me, the colour might as well.
Or if you cant stand a primary colour a nice gunmetal/steel grey?

A nice period mid / medium grey or you could do the main body in the mid grey and do the 4 wings in a darker grey to really make it stand alone from the rest

Grey would be cool, but it does seem very popular ATM, I can see that in a dirty beige colour, almost like BL sandglow, but less yellow. I just looked on a list and found Cashmire beige. I like that.

If I was painting a trekker, I hate to be boring, but it’s black or nothin for me.

If I was painting a trekker, I hate to be boring, but it’s black or nothin for me. Black would be nice! Don't think I've seen many in black. I think they look better in a darker colour. What was the original colour?

Nardo Grey would suit that IMO. A bang up to date colour that wouldn’t look out of date on anything from the 50s, so think it’d work well.

Anything but camouflage. Something about a VW (even though it's not a 40s model) in military colours sets alarm bells ringing for me. Matt black has been done to death too. It's clearly a road car only with that stance so it justifies a nice shiny paint job.
Interesting game of Jenga by the way

What's more timeless than safari park zebra print? If you must be sensible, how about milky coffee. Or a nice metallic blue.
