Hi all, again. I have been running my 200tdi Land Rover Lightweight, on Veg oil over the last 5 years.
The tanks are coated in veg oil including the stuff that has turned to a horrible sticky varnish.
I want it cleaned, but haven't got a clue of the type of cleaning I should search for (arson is not one of them).
Any help pls or a service local to Lancashire appreciated?

You could try one of the automotive radiator companies local to you - some of them undertake fuel tank repairs and ask them to boil / steam the tank out - or if you know someone that has a steam cleaner its just a matter of removing the tank - temporary blanking all but the filler neck off and sticking a steam cleaning lance into it for 30 mins + to boil any grot out of the tank - the alternative is that Frost Restoration do something called Marine Clean which is very effective - link below www.frost.co.uk/cleaner-degreaser-por15-marine-clean-3-78-litres/You could always attempt the cheapskate route and again blank all the but the filler neck off - then fill the tank with very hot / boiling water along with a few dishwasher tablets then leave to work for 30 mins before rinsing & drying out but no guarantees that this method will work

Thanks, there are a couple of radiator shops in town, I will try them.
I do have a can of Marine clean somewhere from an engine clean. But all it did was degrease, not remove this horrible, varnishy gunk.

Caustic soda should shift most veg gunk out of it followed by steam clean. Getting all the water out can be a pain but if it's a steel tank heating it helps and ventilating with an airline.
