My parent's next-door neighbour had a Mk III Cortina in bronze - he managed the largest local supermarket, Lipton's, and was there from dawn 'til dusk in all weathers. And without these bad boys we'd be speaking Russian or the Falkland Islanders would be speaking Spanish with an Argentinian dialect;

Wolseleys weren't the only cars used by the Police in the '40s & '50s... (last one is a 1 1/ 2 litre, so possibly not a genuine ex-police car, as they normally used the 2 1/ 2 litre And the first foreign car to be used by a UK police force:
