Cut the grass. Sun shining, not yet started raining as forecast. Maybe they lied. Thought it was as good a time as any to take the Rezin Rockit out for a drive to Sally’s to drop off the kids bicycle I found thrown out last week. Free stuff, and,it won’t be long before Harry outgrows it too, then someone else can have a free kids bike. Liking this view. Drove over to her -lace, dropped the bike, then took a longer drive, pushing through the gears for about 10 miles, or 16km and maintaining around 70mph out on the bypass road. This car likes to rev and run. Came back via the farm and took a few pics on the side of the rapeseed canola fields. Drove home, stopped to chat with a neighbour walking his dogs, started up, drove 20 yards and it cut out again. Like the last time. Tried a few times to restart, failed. Wondering if there is a heat component to this failing to start. Parked up, got the S10 out and came over to Sallys place for dinner. How was your day ?

This turned out really nice! I hope you’ll be able to find the cause for cutting out like that soon. Reliability is key to fun motoring.

Check out the roll cages on the front row. I guess these guys are serious about their driving, or racing.

I needed some distraction today. TBH, I was kinda expecting nickwheeler to pop around after his Sunday tasks….. Anyway, Decided after a dead bootfair, and before starting on the Canta, to take the RR for a run. Tempt fate, some would say. So I drove over to Allhallows to see if Mercdan68 was in, to ask him about what polish to use on my S10 as I want to just give the paint a bit of love, not a full “detail” or anything that extreme….. but it was all quiet there and I was not going to knock on the door. So I carried on with my drive, heading toward Rochester in the opposite direction. Eventually making it back home with no cut out or breakdown like before. Did I get lucky, or is the previous minimal issue sorting itself out. Parked up, after I got home. After this, I went to do a few small jobs on the Canta. Weekend over again. .

Yes I will be needing one. For now, not the £37.00 plus EU taxes and shipping item, but it will be one of the same size and spec. The one fitted is certainly not correct, though it “works”

good news on a fault free sunny Sunday drive out with many more to come Missed this update, sorry. Really pleased to see this about. What are people's reactions when you're driving? Such a great build Sorry mate, Missed your reply somehow. Probably distracted. The responses generally are along the lines of “Wow,that’s a low Jeep” or “Is it a Jago?” When I reply and add in that it is more MX5 now, they are really surprised. One guy did ask if it was for sale, but I told him, not yet. nickwheeler I had Charlie from the farm here last night, wanting to borrow my Mig welder, told him the trigger was not happy and tripped the power, but that the MMA stick worked really well. He immediately said, “have you checked the lead contacts”, which I recall doing a long time ago, we went down, pulled it out of the corner, he disassembled the torch, cut and removed the wire, reconnected it all, threaded the wire and proceeded to weld perfectly fin with it. So I suspect there was a connector(s) that were dirty, corroded or whatever when we were welding the chassis gussets etc. Good news though , having a working almost new welder again. Seen on a FB group. Not sure what it started life out as.

Has it got an evap canister/valve I suspect when you filled it full of fuel the alternative tank filled the evap system with fuel rather than just vapour. Common issue on modern bikes filled on the side stand.

Today was a “Me day” with grass cut, weeding done etc, the took the Rezin Rockit out for a drive. Not done this for a few weeks. Popped in to check up on Mercdan68 . Found him on the drive. Always busy. Then around to Sally’s place to throw balls for Bonnie for half an hour. After that I went for a further drive, popped in to see UncleBob the Hoarder, but he was away helping Mr Hunt the farmer. So I carried on driving, enjoying the briskness and acceleration of the car while recording some of the trip. I will try to make up a short video of the drive tomorrow. Eventually made I home and checked the whole car over, top and bottom, because I am still looking out for anything that may have been missed. Not had the hood open in anger in months. Found nothing scary, coolant, oil etc all correct. So I parked it up and got onto the Canta to get the rear side glass tinted. Must I sell the car to make space for something bigger?

Turned out great this, nice to see you enjoying it Thanks Joe, a real team effort. Guys like you, westbay in the background and nickwheeler @spacekaddett and many others all built it in various ways. I was driving it around today as well, went shopping, got beeped and a thumbs up from a loud, laity 3 series.
