RIP George, I'll never forget the day we met! I'll also miss the great stuff he wrote, and wish all of his relatives my condolences. we should do that for every RR show - space for a P38 and a chair for the fella (might have to have a bucket for the bottles mind) We lost another RR'r a while back hongkongphooey (Simon who I dragged into this forum as I felt his work wasn't appreciated elsewhere) and there is an award for the best J-Tin at shows - perhaps (and it might help an element of RR that is overlooked) we could have an award for those other modified forms of transport used on the campsite

Maybe we could have a George B award for a class in his memory?

I’ve just found out about this from Social media. It is very sad that he has passed away. I always enjoyed his threads, responses and in some cases humour where it showed . I am very surprised he passed away, and my condolences go out to his family and friends he has helped along the way. So long GeorgeB. I’ll be having a drink in honour tonight and chuckling over the PUKI remark said a while back about something . May you RIP.

So sad, my commiserations to his family. One of my favourite contributors, I'll miss his posts. Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken? GNU GeorgeB

A terrible shock, his writing and contribution across all manner of threads marked him out as a true Retro Rider, especially from so far away.
RIP George, your passing is a loss to us all

Such sad news, I always enjoyed his positive contributions. I dipped in and out of his Letter from Manila thread always intending to read it more fully. It's really sad that there will be no more updates. Rest in peace, GeorgeB.

Just seen this. Like blackpopracing I'm a little taken aback at how saddened I am to hear the news. Isn't it funny, the world is a mad place sometimes, and the internet gets a bad rep with much justification, but it's also responsible for allowing a huge group of people, spread literally around the world, to communicate, form friendships and share information and expertise. George will definitely be missed. RIP.

Just logged on for the first time in a while and read this.
Stunned.
Was a delight to read his adventures and life in the Philippines.
RIP George, thanks for the many many words, posts and insight into a different world.

After reading a comment in another thread I thought, this can’t be right. Sadly it is. I never met him or talked but strangely felt I knew him. Most odd. I will miss his humour and ability to tell a story. I’m sure I would of liked him had we sat down and shared a cold two or three, i guess through his thread I did in a way. RIP George.
