Rover P5B Coupe. My dad had one years ago and I helped him change the engine in it in his garage at home. A number of holidays with the whole family and the dog in it down to Cornwall.
Loved the gentlemans club air of the interior and the way it sounded when it lifted its skirt and accelerated , seemed quick but wasn't. Lovely sense of drama though. Not his but same colour and year.

Mine is similar. Mine is a P6 3500S in Mexico Brown. My grandfather owned one when I was a boy and I loved it. I remember 'doing the ton' up the M1 with my family aboard in that car and thinking it was the most incredible thing ever. The growl of that V8 still rings in my ears. I saw the car many years later on eBay and didn't buy it, a decision I will forever kick myself for. I don't know if it still exists but it would be outside my budget now even if it does.

Pontiac Fiero...had 3; 1984 2M4 - 4cyl and 4 speed. Drove it 70K miles; Gave it away. 1986 LS - V6 and 4 speed. Drove it 170k miles; Gave it to my son who was too tall for it so he traded it for a 1978 Pontiac Firebird. 1986 GT - V6 and 5 speed. I put over 260k miles. The cooling tubes along the sides froze and lost coolant. Gave it away. Would like to find another one !!

First car I ever sat on was my dads P5 3 litre. Sadly the boat of being able to afford one for me sailed a few years ago.

A 1971-2 Ford Mustang Mach 1 fastback. I have always wanted one, since I saw this one driving around Clacton in the mid 1980s. Sounded like God gargling rocks. I know it's likely to be a bit slow, will handle like a truck and will doubtless be ridiculously uncomfortable and impractical. But "want" does not take into account all those things. It was from an impressionable time of my young teenage years, and it remains one the coolest cars in the world for me. Not many will agree with me, but it does have that special "something" as far as I am concerned and I will always strive for one despite never having the means to pick one up. A Mini Pick-up. I almost bought one in 1998, but an engaged telephone made me miss out on it by (probably) about 15 minutes. I've had 7 Minis, and one Midas, but the cutesy little pick-up has always passed me by, and now prices are stratospheric (there's a pattern emerging here), so it's a lottery win motor. And the final one is a Mercedes 123 CE Coupe. I've always wanted to get hold of one of these as they're a classy-looking vehicle but have never had the space to do one. I also really like the idea of grafting the running gear from a C Class, CLK or SLK 230 Kompressor or 320 V6 into one, as the extra oomph would suit it. One day...

I've been getting thoughts of a new daily driver lately, not that there's anything particularly wrong with my current daily but it's coming up to 3 years and I fancy a change. Been considering larger hatches/coupes and estates but trying to keep to a tight-ish budget limits the pickings these days... Not particularly retro but I've been looking at Saab 9-3 coupes and 9-5 estates, I've had a 9-3 (5 door hatch) before and both cars are a bit tempting as it's quite easy to get good power from them. In the near total absence of any 1.8 VTEC Civic Aerodecks on the market these days, I'd entertain a Rover Tourer, particularly if it had the 2.0 T Series engine Then things get a bit silly, theres a high miler, dangerously cheap Passat W8 estate on ebay currently.. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393654100485?hash=item5ba79ce205:g:yLIAAOSwvjBhfEHNI think it's going to be a case of waiting for something to come up that piques my interest, rather than searching for a specific car

They are on my bucket list too, I even think about selling this and that, maybe a kidney to fund a purchase. My Firebird isn't particularly fast but it sounds amazing, looks amazing and turns more heads and elicits more positive comments than anything I have ever owned before. That Mustang you would drive around in burble mode anyway, like mine, it is the sound of an olde worlde V8 that gives you the buzz.

Came close to importing one of these a few years back. Had had a couple of Cuore Avanzato TR-XXs but fancied what for me was the definitive Kei. Never liked the shapes that followed.

there are afew cars id like in my dream garage but 60's BMC cars are what really get me going. a combination of growing up going to classic car shows with banger racing and circuit racing going on gives me enough of a start when it comes to inspiration. First, ill have an a60 farina somewhere between goodwood spec and banger spec, a south london cafe racer. minimal trim and a crazy b series. in rose taupe with red trim. then, i'll have a big farina, probably a wolseley, in full-on VIP spec. properly sorted with modern power, since having 3 nissans, 2 micras and a cube, ive become quite fond of their oddities. id have a pao that looks something like this with silly turbo nonsense my taste in cars is like my taste in music. i either like it or it does nothing for me, but most things are decent after a remix.

I grew up with these from late 70s and through the 80s and 90s, my dad owned many during his London cabbie career I’d love an early 70s one

I've managed to acquire the vehicles on my realistic wish list so I don't find myself gazing longingly at the classified any more. Scouring the Bay of E "Car Parts section is another story though.
old generation 9-3 Aero's - upgrades readily available (quite a few from the parts bin) and the problems (and the solutions) are well known. I've had about 12 and the current one is a black 3 door as per the pic.
Alfa GTV (916) V6 - just because. Mine has the added benefit of having been bought quite cheaply some years ago so appears to have been a good "investment".
Fiat Coupe 20VT - quirky, quick and surprisingly practical. Also surprisingly reliable.
I don't dislike my TT (225 Quattro) but i just find it competent rather than exciting me.
I'll need something to replace the TT when it does give up (on 225k but it keeps on going and just passed another MoT with the belts good for years yet) - Brera, 159Ti and Guilietta Cloverleaf are what i look at most regularly so i guess i like them as well

I still want a Vauxhall Viscount. 3.3 litre straight six with a two-speed automatic box. It'll barely get to a ton, and will drink like Oliver Reed, Richard Harris, and Peter O'Toole put together. But leather and wood everywhere, plush deep carpets, picnic tables in the back, and electric windows!

Lately, I've had a hankering for an Ambassador before they're all gone. They didn't make many and only a tiny number survive. Unfortunately, I'm currently having to operate a one-in-one-out policy at the moment and I'm rather attached to the three I have right now. I'd also like a Standard Atlas of some variety, even though I'm aware they're pretty terrible. I just really like the styling of them. Last pick for this would be a Citroen XM estate. Fantastic looking machines, and immensely practical. It would have to be cloth interior and a petrol engine for me to be totally happy with it but I reckon this would be one of the few automatics I'd tolerate. Just an excellent combination of styling, practicality, and comfort really.

I'm currently talking myself into getting a mk1 Audi TT, as they surely can't get any cheaper. As my budget is really at the lower end of what a semi decent one goes for and knowing that they always need money throwing at them, I've narrowed my search to a non- quattro, 180/190 as that takes away a number of expensive issues. I know many will say you need a quattro in at least 225 flavour, but outright speed and performance is not high on my agenda. As soon as our 2cv project progresses a bit further I'm on the hunt This TT convertible landed on my lap last fall. Got it from a friend who was in desperate need of funds so I got the TT for next to nothing. It's not my style at all, I kinda like the interior, but overall it's not my bag. But I still had good fun fixing it up and doing few modifications to it. I installed -40mm H&R springs, 19" RS6 wheels and chopped the rear hoops by 50mm and now they look ok to me.

I used to be the biggest critic of these things... But they can be had for buttons (which is my favourite price bracket) and respond v v well to the tried-and-tested lowering stick & rims treatment. Yeah, they're thirsty, slow, wallowy, hard to work on and cheap on the inside...but I think I like them 😂 This was mine that I had 11 years with not one issue

It's amazing the difference the drop makes, those wheels are perfect, and there's a purple one for sale near me rn that I'm sure a deal can be done on.

1986 and 15 years old stood in a cold wet Welsh Forrest watching the Lombard RAC rally and you could here a loud barking engine which seemed to be coming for ages and then all of a sudden it came hurtling around the corner. After that all I wanted was an MG Metro 6R4. Closest I came was in 1988 I got a 1.0 City and over the last 30 odd years I’ve had numerous metros including my current one.
