Beware, the link to the SCORE-INTERNATIONAL homepage takes you to a trojan horse downloader. I think SCORE's webpage got hacked as I tried it from a google link and got the same result....
Here's some coolness preserved at the Peterson Museum, link from Popular Machanics.
The ’69 Drino Miller Single Seat was the first solo-seat Baja race vehicle ever produced and it started a revolution. It’s powered by a 2180cc VW engine and won the 1000 in ’69 and ’70.
Like the Baja Boot, the Oldsmobile Banshee pioneered the free-thinking fabrication that lead to more sophisticated race machines. The Banshee is basically a beefed-up short-wheelbase Cutlass and was piloted by James Garner in the late ’60s.
The Big Oly Bronco could be the most famous and admired of all Baja race vehicles. Built by Bill Stroppe and raced by Parnelli Jones, the Bronco has a moveable rear wing and a 380-hp V8. It would top out at 150 mph.
Cars like this ’59 Edsel were, and are still, pretty tame looking for the demands of Baja. However, with legendary race fabricator Bill Stroppe behind its construction, this vehicle took both Karl Webber and his son Nick through numerous 1000s in the ’70s.

"The red-white-blue color scheme indicates that this is the '58 Edsel used by famous Ford racer Bill Stroppe of Southern California in the Baja 1000. In Stroppe's lobby, a very small picture of this car is part of a montage of Baja images. The same paint scheme is found on their racing Broncos. I can nearly assure you the photo was from Baja, not Paris-Dakar."
The Edsel photo appeared in an old German magazine, and was submitted by Zodiak.
