Hi BBQ your car's brilliant mate! Normally into saloon versions of RWD Volvos myself but your car's just right. The modern wheels work too.

Sometimes better wheels do detract from the surprise factor though. I saw a 1.2 Corsa this week, with a 600cc bike exhaust plumbed in, sounded very noisy, owner was not going to be a guest at my next BBQ, but that is the inverse of "sleeper" I guess. Haha, TRG, you are feeling it after my musings at work the other day aren't you? Nice but needs better wheels.

No. A basket case 142 appeared on Ebay and I bought it. Because I couldn't afford to continue developing the 945 AND restore/hot rod the 142 the 945 had to go. So I stripped it, kept the good bits for the 142, sold everything else on Ebay and scrapped the (perfectly good) shell. If I hadn't Megasquirted it I could've just put it back to standard and flogged it. The 142 has a Readers Rides thread on it somewhere. Extremely rare in original RHD in the UK, but that's not stopping it getting back halfed, tubbed, caged and 16v power!

Keep us updated on this one as we're likely to do a small feature for it in RetroSceneMag as an inexpensive car that is super cool... be nice to have its gradual evolution as well

Man, I'd love an Amazon estate.... If you ever do decide to get one, either Loon & myself should be able to give you a pretty comprehensive list of what to check for regarding rust
