Due to too many old Renaults (four at the moment plus the possibility of another arrival in the next few weeks) and the fact that I've only used it three times since I've bought it, I'm selling my Renault 9 Boston. It's a special edition based, I think, on the GTL, which means it has a 1397cc engine and a 5-speed box. As far as I can see the only extras it has over the GTL are a pop-up sunroof, colour coded bumpers & mirrors and a Turbo steering wheel. I bought it on a bit of a whim before Christmas - I had some vague idea about using bits off it to get my Turbo back on the road sooner, but it's really much too good for that. I bought it off an old boy who'd just retired from working at a Renault dealership, so he'd had all the maintenance done properly during his ten-year ownership and it shows - the car feels tighter than any 22-year-old Renault has any right to. It's tested till the end of May. Everything works apart from the stereo (which needs a code), and the heater is brilliant. The only negatives I can think of (bearing in mind that it's 22 years old and therefore has some wear and tear) are that the battery is getting towards the end of its useful life (fine if the car's used constantly, but loses its charge if sat around for a few days) and there's a bit of a whine at speed which could be a wheel bearing. Oh,m and the perspex outer cover for the nsf indicator is missing, but the inner cover's still there so won't be an MoT issue. The car's in Norwich, but would drive anywhere (I bought it from North Oxfordshire and drove it back from there without missing a beat).
