Does anyone actually still use 56k connections?! I'm not the most technically advanced person but I thought every man and his granny had a broadband connection these days! Just wondering if the 56k warnings on pic threads are necessary any more

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Lol, a few years ago my family had dial-up. Man it was slow! I had to sort out my parent's broadband recently - they were paying for 8 Meg and it was capped at dial-up speed! They thought that was normal!

Although not many people have 56k warning, they warnings do let you know its pic heavy and often add some humour i find.
we had 56k for ages...and it was SLOW

Although not many people have 56k warning, they warnings do let you know its pic heavy and often add some humour I find. That's true - sometimes my comp goes mental if I open a mega-pic-heavy thread. Dunno if that's dodgy broadband connection or something going nuts in the computer.

I`m still on 56k at home, it seems to be more expensive than a lot of broadband packages, but to be honest its not bad at all, most of the stuff that has 56k warnings presents no real problem for it.
