i'll check out buysellcortina at some point, cheers plans? Doesn't need anything doing at all, don't think it's ever been welded either. Just going to drive it for the time being. I've got some wheels (less tyres) that should fit but i think they've got a wider offset so i'm not sure about the arches. Obviously i want to lower it but then that can depend on the wheels. I'm thinking about debumpering it and losing the trim down the side as well but i'm not sure. I'm kind of at the stage where i want to mod it but am reluctant to mod it to the stage where it can't be put back to original, especially as it is in original condition pretty much. Not because it will probably be worth more if/when i sell it in original condition but just because, well, because they're getting rare i suppose. It's even got what looks like the original pressed number plate. Obviously the v8 conversion will be the point of no return Oh, but the mayday caravan club grill badge will be staying whatever happens

Keep the body stock - including the bumpers! Although some clear lenses and some MkIV lights wouldn't go amiss. Some wide 15s with low-pros would be my top wheel choice.
It's a top car...well done that man!

Excellent choice and a great colour. I would suggest these alloys (from an ST220) and you can fit the 3 litre duratec at a later stage. Get the one from a Noble though (they have twin turbos) mmm. ;D

Yeah I'd deffo say keep the bumpers, especialy since they have the nice crome strip on them. I think you can get mk5 clear indicators on ebay, they pop up occasionaly. Other than that Id certainly sign up to BuySellCortina, a great forum and a great laugh, they'll also help ya find some clear indicators if any are still being mde anywhere.

i payed more than 100 notes for it i went to look at it while it was on ebay and asked him what he'd take to end it early and i was prepared to pay what he said so it was a done deal incidently, he was into banger racing and had bought it for that reason but decided it was too good to race (or he'd make more money out of selling it, one or the other), so they can't all be bad.

Nice one. I love cortinas and keep fancying getting another. I sold my last one (mk5 crusader) to Tonycocacola when I got my AE86 .Who then proceeded to put flames on the side shortly before the engine blew up. ;D ;D

The last one I had (about 6 years ago) was midnight blue with a black vinyl roof... . It had only done 40-odd thousand miles, one owner for most of it's life (he had it as a company car when it was new and then got made redundant, the car was part of his payoff) I sold it to a guy who cherished it..... until one night it was parked outside his house and BANG! ..... a Nova numpty cleared it up.... he was gutted
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Thats a beauty. Just drop it on big rims, anything else would spoil it. A 2.1 Pinto with a fat cam and twin 40's on a big valve head never hurt anyone either. You could build one up from a later 205 Pinto block out a a Sierra, the later ones are a bit stronger. ;D
