What it says. First time for this one, an attempt to rekindle the enjoyable spirit of Japanese car shows held at Billing until the JAE grew and moved to Peterborough.
Toyota Enthusiasts' Club are making it their big do, DatsunCherry posted this info from their Peter Hunter.....
Billing is definitely "on" the weekend of July 15th & 16th. It's being run by Billing themselves, but a chap named Harry Tune is in charge of the detail arrangements, Tel; 07974 415 946. He lives on the site and has run the American Car weekend for some years. Keith Purdon gives me my information, as they still do the fireworks display, and he's assured me that the aim is to have a weekend very much like it used to be a few years ago when Billy and I last organised it. It's not so much the age of the cars, but the attitude of the owners! Pay on entry to Billing, £10 per car per day, I think, or more for camping the whole weekend. Check with Harry Tune, and/or look at Billing's website. We are holding our National Meeting there, the Suzuki SC100 club will be there and some of the other long-standing clubs, but I think I've heard that the Z Club have something else on that weekend.
Certainly some interest about this from the Datsun OC, a number of us here have fond memories of the old JAE's. Some interesting stuff would turn up, I posted some pic's last year.

Are there autojumble stands available? I could trot out some of my J-tat spares Good idea, I should think so. They were always a feature of the old JAE's until big trade stands took over. DatsunCherry can probably point you in the right direction, or just give that Harry Tune chap a ring.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Let me know if thats going to be the case Nickoli - I'll forward you the organisers emails. It will be nice to get someone selling car parts instead of dream catchers, pooper scoopers and washer LEDs.

Yes, I'll be there and as I've just put JDM mirrors on the wings of my 910 I'll be Mr Japanese Retro himself!

Not going to bring that rather nice new 1000 instead? (Assuming your domestic 'negotiations' go OK) Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't ever remember a 910 coupe being at one of the old JAE's. Saloon and estate yes. As a tempter, here's a small selection from previous shows at Billing in The Good Old Days.....

So Who is going for A. the Saturday? B. The Sunday? C. Camping over? I've got something else on, on the Sunday - but I should think I would pop along on the Saturday for a bit Went along to the JAE shows a couple of times when it was at Billing - always prefered looking at the old and obscure stuff rather than the row upon rows of Subaru and Evo Lancers

I can do any of A, B, or C at the Mo, i think. C depends how many are going, not camping on my bill so this could well be a day tripper...
