Thanks again chaps No part numbers anywhere, just "Veglia" on the circuit board. From looking at stuff on t'internet it looks more and more likely it's from a Fiat Tempra / Tipo Turbo but I can't be 100% sure. It's just that they had the digi dash. Maybe a trip to Fiat dealership is in order, although worryingly the guys at my local Ford dealership didn't know what a Mk3 Escort was! Evidently they were building Mk7's when they were in school!

Thanks again chaps although worryingly the guys at my local Ford dealership didn't know what a Mk3 Escort was! Evidently they were building Mk7's when they were in school! The other night I was watching Car Sharks on FTN and they had some guys from a ford main dealers restoring a Capri and they didnt have a clue. It would have been funny had it not been so tragic.

Clapclapclapclapclap. And clap.
Out of curiosity, how would such a gauge be actuated? Some sort of 0-5V tension, a variable resistance, some sort of PWM or digital signal?

Amazing. So how did this happen? Was Retro rides featured on an unsolved mysteries show or something?

Blimey, mystery solved after 11 years! Well done drgbrick - the pint token is still valid I'm a chronic tat-hoarder so I probably still have the gauge languishing in a box in the workshop somewhere.
