New addition: I'm pleased to say that it did, just about touch the floor - confirming the lowness (although not in this shot). Truth is, I thought it looked silly so it's now been re-located inside. ...where I much prefer it.

It's a reference to Bosozuku cars, they often have the handle of a train hanging from their towing hook. I think it's to show how low they are! You see them hanging from interior grab handles too.

Almost a year since any action in this thread... My trip to America last year led me to take the Cressy off the road at the beginning of 2007 (just after the Retro-Rides Max Power feature) as I'd be away through a lot of the summer shows. Whilst in the 'States I planned to buy a new set of wheels so I sold the Lotus rims to help with funds. Unfortunately the theft of my camera whilst in the US meant a change in spending and I didn't buy the wheels. The Cressida needed an MOT, tax (it's not exempt!) and an exhaust before it was back on the road and I decided to sell it and found a buyer, but circumstances meant that the car is still with me and I've been thinking about keeping it after all. After it's lay up and minus the Lotus magic it's looking a bit sorry for itself: But all is not lost and now I'm planning to get it going again. I got it running yesterday and today these arrived: Oh Yes! Finally, after literally years of trying to get hold of some I've got my grubby hands on some SportMax rims. Now in the 'States these aren't particularly cool - mainly because they're just about the cheapest wheels you can get, but I like the design (these are the new ones - Superlite/Minilite style) and most importantly the specs are right - 8x15 and zero offset...these babies are deep! Massive thanks go out to Charlie who purchased and posted them whilst in LA on a family holiday - you are my hero! Anyway, I've only got two at the moment (hopefully the others will appear soon) and I can't afford tyres or bolts yet, but I've done a basic mock up anyway... Nice! Hopefully I'll be at RR08 in it.

Not really sure how 8x15" and zero offset wheels could be considered uncool If that's the case I'd say you must be the skool geek

I wanted 002s (the original SportMax design), but they were out of stock when Charlie went to get them. These were a new style and I wasn't keen on them at first...now they're here though I wouldn't have it any other way! ;D
