And to why not Senny a\ monza axles, double a arm front suspension, and stiff rearaxle.. Too much work to modify i think, but i don't know.. Errr - I'm not so sure you can't use the wheel carriers for the front - it's certainly not double arm front suspension All the bits for the front and the rear are posted up here I can get senny rearaxle with LSD pretty cheap Problem is finding the damned Commo front stuff I'd be seriously looking as Senny A Well, seems i can get a commo rearaxle pretty cheap, and the senny diff fits in it. And its plug and play on the rekord, so i`ll probably go with that. And there`s no way i`m converting double a`s to McPherson, thats like a downgrade ;D

Wow! looking good, great read too. What power do you reckon the new, shineh engine will pump out? (apologies if I missed it in the original posts)...
I have a growing fondness for these - especially that white auto one that was on the 'bay recently..

Aiming for 250 bhp - Rolling road session booked for 8th April - so working hard to get it sorted for then - it'll be running hybrid map unless I get it running sooner than planned - plan is to replace the restrictive Air Flow Meter with a hot wire type - can turn up the wick on fuel then but I don't think it will be ready by April I have a growing fondness for these - especially that white auto one that was on the 'bay recently.. I had an auto before but the manuals use the getrag 265 box

Surprising how much weight can be lost by removing sound deadening, insulation and underseal. I always remove it from all my competition cars. Are you putting the carpets back in or you leaving it noisy

Surprising how much weight can be lost by removing sound deadening, insulation and underseal. I always remove it from all my competition cars. I estimated about 10 Kg before I started but it's quite a lot more than that - maybe as much as 15 kg Some of the pads are thicker and much heavier than others I'd already removed the really heavy foam backed underlay and the front carpets a while back - that really was heavy but being full of water probably didn't help Are you putting the carpets back in or you leaving it noisy I think I'll be leaving it noisy ;D Might put the carpets in for Le Mans Trip tho - might be a bit of a drag for 500 miles of mainly motorway work!!!

Highs and lows of a Monza rebuild HighsIt's a 22 year old car so I should expect sourcing parts to be a problem but I got half a result last week my local motor factor had one rear wheel bearing on the shelf - that would replace the one that fell apart but I really wanted to do both just for good measure - I bought that one for £30 - I knew that was cheap but he'd had it on the shelf for 10 years ;D He rang round a few supplier to be told none avaliable I emailed SKF who put me in contact with the East Anglia Distributors - yes they had one in stock not a kit just the bearing £117 plus VAT WTF!!!! I asked on here if anyone could ask their local motor factors for one - must still be the odd one on the shelf somewhere in the UK Well I was amazed onlyrwd said he would check with someone he new who bought up a load of surplus stock from a motor factors and was flogging it bit by bit on ebay Wooo Hoo - he had one make an offer he said £30 plus post I offered as that was what I paid for the other one £30 inc post was agreed on ;D Posted friday arrived Sat morning and best bit was it was a matching SKF one - Now thats a result!!! LowsWhy is it when you trust someone else to do something they let you down on the timelines!!! Rear swing arms are off being welded and were supposed to be ready Friday....... They weren't!!! They were shot blasted obviously before being passed on to the welder but no welding had been done The powder coaters are waiting for them before they shot blast and powder coat the rest of the bits So I have no - Brake calipers to refurb (got all new seals and stuff ready and waiting) - Swing arms to re-assemble (got all new bearings, brake shoes, poly bushes etc) - Can't put the crossmember and diff back in without swing arms Result is I don't get to do diddly to the Monza instead I'm doing DIY for the whole weekend A rse!!!

STOP IT!!!!! It's making me want another Monza!! Sticking with Mantas at the moment, bought 5 since september last year... I keep an eye on ones for sale but I realy do like them.... The old Series 1 I had was ok but I had no money to repair it so sold it onto a Manta owner who wanted the 12 Valve for it, never fitted it, still sat in his garage... Must say though, that'll be too good for a track day car underneath, but atleast you know its right when you're blatting about on the track.. BTW, Thanks for the Credit on the 'Monza Highs' post

STOP IT!!!!! It's making me want another Monza!! Sticking with Mantas at the moment, bought 5 since september last year... I keep an eye on ones for sale but I realy do like them.... I like Manta's too - would love a late 2.0 GTE coupe in white - nearly bought one once but I was a tightarse and he wouldn't move far enough for me on price!!! The old Series 1 I had was ok but I had no money to repair it so sold it onto a Manta owner who wanted the 12 Valve for it, never fitted it, still sat in his garage... The engine will still be fine ;D Must say though, that'll be too good for a track day car underneath, but atleast you know its right when you're blatting about on the track.. I think thats the main idea - I only like to do things once!!! BTW, Thanks for the Credit on the 'Monza Highs' post That sir was a pleasure and well deserved - the thanks are all mine- should have the bearings pressed into the housings tommorrow and then it's put it all together time!!

Right progress tonight and off course the answer to where the washers were needed ;D Rear trailing arm bushes - photos of just the one - don't want you all being bored  Clean the housing Grease the housing (Rubber grease) Line it up and using a suitable tool Wind it in Once the bush is in repeat with the sleeve Wind it in - remove tool and jobs done  Repeat with the other three!!! Now those washers Got to pull the axle shaft through the bearing In position Add a washer Pull it up Add change thickness of the washers Pull it up some more Add change thickness of the washers again and pull it up till it's home On the other side I'm putting the handbrake shoes in first  Even my cat Elsie is bored with this  Discs ready

I meant to ask are you rebuilding the diff or you happy with its condition? I have a spare anyway but thats not the point - it's a slipper that still works fine and is very progressive unlike the Carlton Senator ones so I thought best leave well alone

For the next installment I need to apply some heat to the flange that the drive shaft bolts to so that it can be pushed over the splines in the axle. It's been powder coated so local application with a blow torch isn't gonna cut it...... Question is can I get "her" out of the way so I can use the "Oven" for a couple of hours to get some heat into them and then drop em on? ? Or Do I ask her?

if you ask, she'll say no. Just do it, so when she freaks, you won't care, coz i'll be done.
