Finally got round to posting some pics of my rusty old Anglia. I bought it from oldskoolcortina 2 or 3 years ago thinking it needed the sills redoing, a few patches and a splash of paint, oh and a proper engine! Anyway, the quick project slowed down when I started digging at the brown stuff and, apart from anything else discovered the front panel, nearside inner wing and part of the chassis leg had been hacked off another car and attached with tack welds and bathroom sealer However, the end is getting closer and I'm hoping to get it up and running late this year / early next. The spec is as follows; RS2000 Pinto with T9 box Escort crossmember and rack with extensions 2.8i Billies and roll bar 105E axle with 9" drums Capri column with Fiesta UJs Other stuff I've forgotten or haven't sorted yet! I have (with a bit of help), done most of the repairs / mods myself (the only bought conversion parts are the rack extensions) except the machining, which has been done by various Old Skool members (cheers ;D) And thanks to BodieandDoyle for use of his broadband to sort the pics, I owe ya!

Dammit!! I was hoping nobody was going to mention the Mondeo! Don't think I haven't thought about pulling the block, unfortunately For decided to put the water pump on the back of the head ( bulkhead mods ) but I bet the sucka would bolt to a T9! Expect more progress reports as and when I remember to take the camera to the workshop

Buying a BMW or a Bentley & looking cool is easy, but the credit doesn't go to you.Taking an unloved car that cost £500 & making it good enough to get photos in magazines or stand out alongside cars that cost one hundred times more is a skill reserved for us loonies!

Progress has unfortunately slowed to a crawl the last few months, due to rust, badly fitting panels, waiting for better panels, rust, other cars and bad lungs (asthma, infections etc ) In fact for a while I just chucked a sheet over the damn thing and forgot about it for a while! However, the rear bodywork is now all welded up ;D although it wasn't as straightfoward as I had hoped. I got the back panel repaired and the back 6" of floor done ok, then it started to go wrong. The new lower rear quarter panel weren't even close to a fit! The valance wasn't a lot better While I was waiting for new ones I checked the boot gutter, and knocked big holes in it! Then broke half the bolts in the bootlid when I took it off. Finished that lot off and moved on to a scruffy part of the parcel shelf. Ended up rebuilding the lot including parts of the seams of the roof. Still, got there in the end Some pics; Pulled a lot of this out with bare hands! That middle patch is 3ft by 6" at its deepest Would have been longer if I'd had a bigger sheet of tin Managed to use the curse word valance, but I had to put new lips on each end and split it in the middle. That was necessary cos when I bent the ends to shape, the centre popped out! Back panel was repaired with some Metro sill I happened to have lying around Even the expensive quarter repairs needed modding, as they were a fraction too long More updates as and when I get round to it

Good work know what you mean about rusty 100Es lol I had to rebuild the entire bootlid lip and as I have no access to a shrinking machine I made it in welded together 3" L sections lol.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
