Bit of a story the cams, bought as part of a job lot on eBay .com, nice customs man at east Midlands airport decided they looked dodgy so cut them up to make sure they weren't made out of panda's, tiger testicles or similar... Up shot was a nice lady in the complaints team agreed they were knackerd and authorised a cheque to the value of a replacement pair at retail price in the uk, 6 times more than the original costs A rare win against customs, yay! The car ended up with grp N c&b cams, ported, polished head, all balanced, lightened etc... Eibach springs, white line arb's, 4 pot brembos, fiat stilo sport 16" wheels, Toyota mr2 (yes really) seats, cda, stainless exhaust etc etc Turned out to be a nice car which I took to Milan for the centenary thing last summer, 2700 miles in 6 days

Glad it turned out ok in the end. When I saw that picture I just thought, "I didn't know they put a flat 4 in the 155". I can't believe they cut them up! I'd've thought an ultrasound scan would have been pretty conclusive.

This is a bit of work that’s been going on for about 18 months now so I’ll break it down into chunks, what started life as a '97 Alfa 155 1.8 16v TwinSpark, Engine work: polished and ported head over bored with 2.0 internals fitted balanced and lightened crank, rods, fly and clutch Grp N C&B cams FSE fuel regulator Suspension: Eibach springs Whiteline ARB's Koni dampers Brakes: 4 piston Brembo 147 GTA calipers, custom brackets 305mm Discs rear standard Wheels: 16x7 Fiat Stilo sport Interior: Toyota MR2 GT front seats Fiat Stilo Sport reclining rears To come: Eaton M45 supercharger, yes really TSW Hokenheim 16x7.5 wheels very long story short blew the head gasket after the rad fell to bits and decided I should do a “light” restoration before putting it back on the road…. What I thought it needed: rear sub frame replacement with new bushes as well rear quarters to come off, wonder what I'll find under there? OSR inner arch at the boot floor and any other weak bits in the floor/chassis legs Head gasket Belt and tensioner replace the boot lid fit silverstone spoiler and lifter kit thousands of miles left in that, surely? starting to strip down not a great sign dodgy brake pipes! Engine & box out, front suspension and sub frame off, rough looking chassis legs OSF bumper support NS floor pan, decided not to look any further as would likely want to crush the damn thing... New exhaust, power flow with only a couple of thousand miles on it oh and the manifold for the supercharger That’s it for now, more to follow

Great work, remember this car from 155.org, had a blue 155 2.0TS years ago (sadly only briefly), cracking cars, may end up with another someday.
Why are you getting rid of the Stilo wheels ?, i thought they suited it to a T (was slightly jealous of them when i had my 155)

So much love for this!
I've got a 2.0 16v 155 which I'm about to start fitting bits too this week!
Completely agree with choosing a 1.8 engine as a base too.
I'll happily steal any parts from you if you need to get rid of bits - especially exhaust!!

Thanks guys TSW's are slightly wider and will clear the brakes without spacers, not a done deal by any means though... more than likely have a spare exhaust, again need to check out what's going to work best when I get that far

Strange, I thought Fiat finally nailed the rust issue with the Tipo and started galvanizing most of their cars?
I guess the Alfa factory didn't get the memo!

Next update, this was about a year ago! what that manifold is attached to Good metal to weld to is over rated lol this is the NSF footwell And the NSF seat support from below first of many repairs and the next “stupid” idea, Fiat Stilo leather rear seats, not a straight fit but do look the part a couple of the strange shaped repair panels I’ve made, all from flat plate btw… and in place and I've been looking at way of strengthening the sill and particularly the jacking points, and you can see where I’m headed with the sill strengthener and new jacking point OSF is next
