hve you got a hydrolastic pump? don't have one yet, Il just make one when the time comes. Workshop is my dads, he runs a little engine building buisness but we use most of the workshop for our own projects nowerdays!! Its a case of cramming as much stuff in as poss as we rent part of it out we are a bit short on space but then without the rent we wouldnt be able to afford it. Some other stuff going on in there:

Semi o/t - if you happen to make a decent enough pump, can I nip up and borrow it? One of the advisories on my MOT was shagged rear suspension pipes, and noone round here seems to have a pump

Theres a place advertises in PC sells em for about £80, I have often thought about getting one, so far I have resisted as I don't own any cars with hydrolastic suspension. Still a great tool to have though.

Wow, Slater, fantastic quality progress, you have put you money where my mouth is. Amazing work as ever. Impressive stuff. If only mine garage had space + nice tools, and my dads workshop was not full of festering old crap covering the tools. not saying I'd be any good but it'd help. Agree with Bo11ox, beavering away, in the garage for a festive period on ya bill with only old mans radio for company is great therapy.

Quality work on such an unloved car has got to command some respect! Can you do unleaded valve seats in the workshop then?

Great work Mr S! That's still the best Metro rust-wise I've seen in ages. Agree with Bo11ox, beavering away, in the garage for a festive period on ya bill with only old mans radio for company is great therapy. Agree 196%!

Can you do unleaded valve seats in the workshop then? Yeh, we do loads of seat work. Basiclay we can do any kind of engine machining work. Bore and hone, liners, head and block skims, valve seats, seat inserts, valve guides, crank grinds, line boreing, rocker grinding, helicoils, acid dip, bead blasting, metal spraying. etc etc. Hopefully my dad will have his site up soon and you can see what kind of stuff we work on, Everything from old 3 cylinder tractor lumps to le mans winning race engines.

Some old boy my dad knows had it sitting in his shed after his son pulled it from a metro about 10years ago. He wanted it out the way but his son didnt want to know (probably grown up and got a family by now!) I don't think he relly relised how much they are worth so he said I could have it if I could come picked it up so he had more room for his tractors! He didnt know much about it but he thinks it was a runner and had been rebuilt not long before it was removed. It has been sitting in a shed for a while with open oil ways and turbo intake so il strip it down and see what ive got. Not 100% sure what I'm aiming for here. I could just stick it in as standard but that semes a bit of a waste if I'm going to have to rebuild it. Then again mods take time so il have to take it as it comes. Doing the paint repairs and getting the car road worthy again is the main focus atm.

I wonder if you could get 10in mini cooper steels on there. I know they go on the back but if you could get them on the front that would look awesome!! or black 10in wiiiide wellers. would probably handle like a go-cart too!! I think I need a metro lol

I was going to try my mini split rims on there just for a laugh. They are soo offset they wont touch the brakes but will probably stick out the arches way too far.
