As the others have said, it looks like a different shade of white. But in this case, a repaint is slightly tricky as it involves tackling a decal...

Mine has the sunroof leak too, two weeks with the carpet out to dry out fully! Check your drian holes, and make sure you keep the scuttle tray drains clear in the engine bay or you get a soggy fuse box and passenger well.

Were these intended to be a bit more basic for speed - you seem to be missing the cassette box on centre tunnel and have the plastic gear gaiter rather than leather - what's the wheel -plastic as well? The Martini was one of the first special edition's and was based on the late 70's 924. Back then plastic was the order of the day, leather trim came later. Not sure whether the casette box was standard fitment by then, but even if it was, they are now as rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony droppings (its missing from mine!). Very easily broken. Wheel is plastic too. A well presented Martini is quite a rarity nowadays and worth a few bob. Has yours got the Martini plaque with serial number on the centre console? |

oo its got the plaque!   but they never had edition number wrote on them. Unfortunatly the guy I got it from said that it had electrical problems so the other week I looked at what was/not working then went to the fuse box as a starting point. got my head down there, it was soaked and corroding so I stopped right there!! got a new one now tho to go on its a minter!!  I realise this is a good limited model and hope I can do it a little justice!!! trying not to spend to much money on it but what needs doing is going to get done!! |

 Wet fusebox syndrome is common on the 924. Lift the battery out and see if it still has a battery tray! The drain holes in the bulkhead frequently block and trap water in this area and corrode through. The fusebox sits directly underneath inside the car. Something of a nuisance to repair as well as all the wiring needs to come out of the way to weld it. There is a school of thought that says pop rivets and fibreglass are good enough in this area as its not really structural, but it would be a shame not to do a proper job on such a rare car if you ask me. As for the wings, I'd also say that they have been painted in a slightly brighter shade of white. Looks like the difference between, say Vauxhall Polar White which is sort of mucky looking and Ford Diamond White which is really sharp and bright.

gud eve all! had a real good day today with the weather being good, so here goes! The front how I got it  in the middle of neatening it up a bit!  went off to find my krust, but couldnt find it  didnt want to go the shops as it was such a good day to keep going at it so for now I just placeed up my nose piece to see how it would fit Painted it yesterday, can confirm that the wing is a totally different white (guessing that the martini it came off was actuall a copy effort) so thats got to come off, key, then paint up.   she can see you!!!!  this ia the old fuse box, after changing it the car started easier, front lights came on as should do wipers now work and so on well chuffed!!!  next I moved on to the back, where the rear hatch closes was all rusted on both sides e.c.t. so...    again no stuff to treat the rest of the rust so stopped there for now got a dude I know coming tuesday to sort them little holes out then slap some filler on, paint! passenger side rear window rubber was in a mess, the car came with a spare so out she come in she goes!!   that silver trim took me ages and was the most annoying part of the lot today!!!!! forgot to mention too that I have to get this car looking respectable befor next tuesday as thats when the rents are back home off holiday because it would just be another stupid project that would never get finished, so this will be, deadline - 8 days and counting!!!! |

Bet you had fun doing the passenger window - took frigging ages on mine as I couldn't find any string for the old trick so decided "it was only small, it wouldn't be hard to do manually" and then wouldn't admit defeat!
Whilst they're out it's often worthwhile checking the rear speakers as they're pain to get to with the windows in if you ever want to upgrade.
Is your nose cone bolt on? They seem to switch to welded on with later ones both my W reg were welded on - making it trickier to change.

Took about half an hour to put in, then an hour to do that sodding silver trim!!! hate it! didnt think about the speaker it deffinatly needs changing cant I do it without the window out? Never used any string to do the windows on any of my cars, I just put the back edge in first then run a small screwdriver along the edge lifting the rubber over into the car and long nose pliers to grab the courners in works a treat learnt it on my imps when changing from glass to plastic . The front nose piece was originaly weld on so took the remain bits off, the new one is a bolt on, so four holes are going to be drilled top and bottom the bolt it on, much easier! I thought that the later ones had bolt on, and the earlier had weld on? |

Nice looking 924, i had one a few year ago, one of the best cars ive owned, i always wanted a martini. Sorry i cant help with any of your questions tho, good luck with it, cant wait to see it finished  |

just a little update but a gud 'n'! got home from work, let the mut out then painted up the front wing, looks quite good, this is after its first coat.  after the paint had dried for two hours I couldnt wait anymore, I had to take the masking tape off to see if it had worked! little runnage but nothing that cant be sorted  then I thought sod it I cant wait to fit it so I put it in place and held it there with a couple of its bolts, looking ace now its the right white!!   thats it for now still trying to find the bits I need |

How was everyones weekend? enjoying the weather, it was ace on the wirral! On Wednesday I ordered a new porsche badge, fingers crossed it was going to turn up Thursday as I didnt think it would come on the Saturday, It never turned up though   BUT IT DID ON SATURDAY!!!!!  looks a bit better than the old one!  Right then off to work on it, as I had already seen if the front fitted it was just a case of bolt the curse word down (technical terms there ) and stand back look happy!      What I cant understand is why the bumper is pointing down on the left hand side  crazy fool!! also I'm guessing that it aint the original bumper as the martini aint ment to have the light washers!  Now I need to take the wheels off and get new tyres alround, and take the head off the engine to have a look at whats going on. Since I was quite happy with her at the moment I attacked my std imp with a bucket, then cutting compound then wax, cant belive that the nearly 38 year old paint came up so well!!! took me a good 2 hours or more tho!!  Can some one help me please, The interior is basically complete now, but the rear window wiper is still disconnected from the little switch as I cant make sence of the wiring diagrams  , if possible could some one who has one of these have a look see at theirs and let me know where to connect the three wires, cheers! |

top work - looks like you finally got the right shade for the front wing i'm liking the 'overspray on the pebbles ' shot too.. i've said it before and i'll say it again - you ain't a real petrolhead till you get overspray on the driveway (or the pebbles in the back garden , or the dog , or next doors shrubs etc ..) nice imp too |
