Thought I'd start a thread outlining our plans as we're picking it up on friday. Here are the pictures: Won't be on the 1.9 GTi alloys, but will be coming with 13x5.5 Roland Garros wheels and Rallye steels with slicks, wets and Yokos A021s. It's currently stripped out with buckets/harnesses fitted, Spax suspension, noisy exhaust and plently of new bits and pieces. We'll be fitting the Locost wheels with brand new A021s for a bit: And an OMP 10pt cage, plate instead the sunroof, GTi front brakes and all the litte bits needed for motorsport (fire extinguisher, cut off switch etc). The engine is a TU3S which was also fitted to the XS version, meaning an ally block (23kgs lighter than the iron version), twin choke carb and 85bhp as standard, which is should still be making hopefully! It is also coming with a breathed on head, which I'll be building up into a nice fast road/race head good for 130bhp, with a new cam, followers, springs, bike carbs and a few other bits and pieces. Will also be looking into a 309 beam and front arms and poly bushes. There we go! Adam

whats the point in a 309 beam? why not just fit wheels with a bigger offsett? It has stiffer torsion bars and more negative camber as well. Adam

What type of wide arch kit are ya gonna put on with the 309 bit's? Not sure at the moment, but was thinking about some of those J style arch things... rivet on things. They make me feel funny inside!

It's home Set off at 11:30am yesterday, got to Wrexham about 4:00pm having queued for a while on the M6! When we got there we were led in to the workshop at NEWI where it was sat, piled full of wheels, tyres and other bits He hadn't got round to changing the clutch (not too tricky) and he's going to finish the head off for us which is good! It is also VERY loud (straight through exhaust!). Trip back was a bit tense, every now and again the trailer would take to the tramlines and start to swerve quite violently! The cure was to pull into the middle lane and slow down... so we weren't too popular with the BMW drivers ( ). It's currently sat on 13x5.5 steels (painted white) with Avon ACB10s and it looks very good! It has electric windows, central locking and a vacuum assited sunroof as well, all of which should be very useful during trackdays and hillclimbs....

Spotted on the way: Are the brakes working?: Followed by 'Ouch hot yes!'. Loaded on the trailer: We reached Demon Tweeks 10 minutes before closing time! They werent happy, and neither were we as trying to get the roll cage in the back of the volvo in a thunderstorm was quite proving quite tricky! But we got there in the end... Taking up the whole of the Little Chef carpark! Was pitch black by the time we got home. Off the trailer this morning: Adam

Excellent work.
130bhp, from a 1.4. Christ, bet that's a lark. My old dad's got one of these in 1.4 flava. Lobbing in a pokey motor would be comedic.

Cool little car dude. As is quite obvious by my username, I'm a big fan of small Pugs.

It appears to need a fair bit of revving though. It is also loud as a loud thing on a very quiet day. Sold the Polo today as well, so that will be off to it's new owner soon. Adam
