What an amazing bargain! It made me laugh how you got them for 55p by outbidding someone else!!!

Just make sure you have the fuel pump off the same bike and it's instant win! ;D

Yeah, I've got a suitable pump already in my stash of bike bits (actually off my old Kawasaki ZXR750H1 if anyone cares!) Having fiddled with bikes for years, these should be a piece of pee to set up!

None as yet, i'm just waiting for a clear space in my Garage so I can bring her to mine for some much needed body work.
I've gotta repair the door bottoms, replace parts of the bulkhead we had to remove and strengthen the inner wing we chopped about t fit the gearbox in!

TINY LITTLE UPDATE... PandaMonium has been moved to the warmth and safety of my Garage for some much need winter work! Now I only got her at the weekend and have only managed one nights work, but here's a litte update Since some traveller stole the wiring loom we've had to go carbs, so i needed to remove the loom attached to the engine and the whole inlet/plenium affair Here it all is attached Half gone She's outta there! This has free'd up a load of room i can fill with carbs, i'm thinking i prob didn't have to cut that huge hole in the bulkhead now This is the inlet manifold from underneath Now as much as i'd like to pay out for a custom manifold for the bike carbs, its just not in the spirit of things. I reckon if i cut along the redline here, use some silicone hose and a bit of tube i can re-use part of the manifold, saving me cash and time. Your thoughts?

Sure, it's done all the time on bikes, as well as the VW forums I frequent.

The angles the cuts are at seem to point to the carbs pointing in on the carb next to 'em at the ends What's the length of the carbs from the cut - would 1 hit 2 and 3 hit 4 ( if you get me ).

I'm thinking of doing the same with this manifold on my Anglia prec-rossflow so will be keeping an eye on how it goes for you!

and........ if the carbs are not square on - how're you planning to sort the throttle linkage for 'em? I'm keeping an eye on this one too - as bike carbs are on the 'must have' list.

The carbs would be square on. All bike carbs I've seen have been mounted on silicone tubes so presumably theres a bit of give in these & could be bent & twisted to fit. Ehaust manifold branches have to be matched but I'm not sure on inlet, looking at mine there's 2 different lengths.

would it not be easier to use the manifold flange as a template to cut a new one with straight risers? or cut the flange back so its just a flange, then weld in straigh risers to it??
