Hope this isn't too late.....
The artist is called Arman, and the sculpture is in the South of paris - Jouy en josas (or something like that)
Most of the cars are French, bar a few fiats, and german cars. I re-visited the place some 5 years ago and apart from the vandalism and inevitable rust, it still stands - in his back garden!
I took loads of photo's but can't be arsed to scan them in, so I'll just list the cars.

There are a few others, but I couldn't spot them! I think there might be a Traction avant up there too. I don't think there are any 2CV's - possibly due to the tin foil metal not being able to hold in the concrete.
It took him 6 years to complete and if you can get permission, its well worth visiting. I saw it in a book and was obsessed by this for years!
I think Arman was specific in his choices of cars. Most of the cars were not especially old when he built this, those bottom cars were probabily not more than 6-8 years old. There is only one British car, one japanese and no eastern block models. I believe each car was regulalrly polished and cleaned until the early ninties.
My favourite piece of art work! I built a 1/43 version from plaster of paris full of 80's Burago models.
....and there ends the art history lesson.
