heh... my wife's wanting a Pao now. quick question are ALL Pao's over here auto's, she's not taken her test yet in the UK, but as she took her test in Taiwan in an Auto she's thinking it'll be easier to do the same over here. Auto conversion is a doddle, just find a cheap K10 micra with a decent engine and manual box. The pedal box will swap over and the gear stick all lines up ok. There are a couple of manuals over here, went to look at a ivory one a couple of weeks back.

Seem to have got a bit of a Rubber Fetish at the moment. Yes thanks to the wonder of the internet and exchanging tracings of my rear mudflaps for those on the front with another owner. I now have a matching set.

Not a lot happening with the Pao, alternator went over christmas which took a few days to source one that fitted. Benn waiting for this to happen for that last couple of weeks. 150,000 And it happens at night so I can't get a decent image but hey who cars have a dodgey picture of the speedo.

Hopefully a few more of the Cubes on the Cube Club forum will join in what with yours and a couple of other modiified cubes on there will make a good show. I'm trying to get a full coulor range of Pao's together for the weekend.

One snapped cambelt at roughly 20K since it was last changed resulted in a few bent valves and a broken rocker arm. 250 miles commuting on my bike later, not to much of a stress when its 10 miles along the beach and cliff tops. No piston damage luckily. Just the bonnet to go back on and first test drive. I'm tempting fate its going to go horribly wrong.

Glad you got it sorted dude, what approach did you take in the end? Complete head or partial rebuild?

In the end bought 8 new valves, and a new rocker arm. Didn't want to risk unknown secondhand parts, when everthing else was known to work. Just need a new water temp sensor as I managed to snap its connector when sliding on the spade clip.
On the plus side I took the opportunity to replace a lot of sevicable items at the same time.
Just need to run it for a few days then re adjust the valve clearances, and get the timing spot on.

The Pao soldiers on dropped its front suspension going round a round about and hitting a big pothole.
Was tempted to cut a coil or two out of the springs but didn't need the angle grinder till I had to change the shock and wishbone still attached to the car. ;D
