Impressive work. I find it a little soul-destroying to spend weeks cutting more and more metal away, making holes bigger and bigger. Its a major relief when the new metal starts going back in!

Update Saturday Well I'm well stuck now. The inner wings will not line up at all, the gaps are all wrong, the holes don't line up and its either too high or too low Drivers side on Top a panel gap Thats not right at all. Holes well out, that pushes the inner wing too high at the front, puting it back down makes the inner wing the right hight at the front. Front Panel lined up. Front kinda on. Sunday Well its looking up. After a chat with my friends ive got the holes lining up and the gaps right. Jacked the car up off the ground and then hit the subframe with a hammer after putting a jack towards the crease, the holes are now in the right spots and the crease near enough gone WOO! Put the entire front end back together, all the lines look good and straight. Think its nearly time for the welder to come out.

I was worried too, i knew it had been in a accident in the past due to the damage to the toe board and the crease. Hitting the subframe with the crease under force moved the crossmember down a good cm and now things line up.
The pannel gaps believe it or not were the door... the skin is terrible so i went and folded the lip correctly now and the gaps are alot better. Hoping to start welding in the next few weeks.

Nice work that man.
I've got a spare set of rear doors sitting in my shed, free to a good home. Somebody has done a DIY re-skin on them, and one glass is missing.
PM me if you're interested.

Todays and yesterdays work. Working with gas and a proper regulator that doesnt leak my welds are getting there but not going well with the welder... it has a mind of its own... well either that or the weld 2 primer isnt working right. Re-welded the panel correctly and cleaned up. Tacked the panel into the car Put inner wing back in to make sure everything lined up correctly. Bad piccy but bulkehad lining upto inner wing. Paint taken off and then sprayed with weld 2 primer Punched plug weld holes. Two plugs done, messy but took Panel welded in, again messy but took Nice weld... didnt take to the other panel. Tacked welded in. Ive given up for the day because of the welder problems, think the weld 2 primer isnt working right Either way its progress.

Update Made some blanking plate. Welded in scuttle blanks, of course second attempt was better than the first. Underside Bit of filler, needs more sanding and another layer. Welded all the holes from drilling the spot welds out. 2p's are great. Bit of primer as i wanted to protect the bare metal. Now, possible colour for the body, with flash. Without. Its a bit flat but its out of a rattle can and ive not flatted it or anything. Colour in the sun Not sure about it to be honest. Filler Sanded down. Panel Wiped Primer You would never know ;D Inner wings, filler. Sanded down, needs another skim of filler. Thats it for today and yesterday, next progress possibly in 2 weeks. And ive decided i don't like the colour.
