FOR SALE.It is with regret and trepidation I have come to the decision to put up the Grizz Mobile up for sale. Loads going on in my life right now, including a house move, marraige etc, and I have decided very much on my own to take a good look at my toy and other stuff collection. Admittedly, the bus is the best of the lot, but it will also take a lot of time and work to get it where I want it cosmetically, with paint etc. The house we have bought will be costing a mint, and there is so much work to do, also things that are eating into my finances, like solicitors etc at the moment..... so needs must. Most of you have followed the thread from day one, and encouraged or commented. THREAD HERE: www.retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=37192&page=1Currently fitted with a 105bhp Zetec engine, conversion done by Edd Weeks. The thread pretty much explains all the stuff I do not know or understand. Fitted with a Towhitch and wired up. The bus is just a van waiting for all the magic touches one might want to put to it. Model: Ford Taunus Transit FK1250 Year: 1963 Mileage: Around the 16300km mark on the speedo, but that was replaced as the original had been vandalised. Having been a fire engine in its original guise, the mileage was always going to be low. The Zetec engine had less than 60k miles on, and runs and pulls sweetly. I have some spare bits and very hard to get bits for the bus. Unfortunately, I gave away a load of spares recently to the Ford Heritage Centre to use on their resto. Tax: FREE , and current. MOT: May 2011 Location: Rochester - KENT Price: £6000.00 Contact details: Rian - 07843053134 Mail me riankemp on yahoo dot com Please PM if you are interested, however please call or text, as I do not get online to check PM's all the time. That's All Folks.......

Right that's it, who's gonna lend me 6 grand?
EDIT Grizz do you wanna swap for a Golf an e21 and a Mk5 Transit? Can throw in some bikes a arm and a leg as well with your choice of internal organs as a sweetener.

Hä? I can't believe that you will sell it.............!! A sad day....... Greet Thorsten Thorsten, It is one of those decissions that has taken a lot of thinking, and ultimately I have to be sensible now. The bus will probably not be touched for a few years now, and there are many things to think of. If it sells, then good, if it does not sell, then I will have a bus to play with in a few years. But right now, in the short to medium term, there are other things to do. The one thing I can honestly say is that Nicola had 100% nothing to do with it, and once I explained to her, she accepted it would be the right thing for us to do now. In the mean time, it is safe and in a dry garage, along with all the other toys.

Aw man Rian, seriously consider it. You love this thing, you built a trailer for it and the teardrop's full design was based around your amazing plan for the van. Put it on hold, keep it in that nice warm garage and let it lie low. It'll be so damn cool, pride of retro-rides! First thread I ever saw on RR was of this baby. Keep it! Niall

Hey Rian, would be an AWFULL thing to see this go, you put a lot of love and effort into it, you are bound to feel VERY sorry if you sell it, i gather. But, having said that, it's your car, your choice, your own descision. Still sad though.

Thanks for the comments guys, the nice thing is that I want to sell the bus, I do not need to sell it (yet) .
I wonder if it was psychic foreboding that made me put the bus up for sale ?
Been made redundant at the company I worked for the last 14 years, part of a US$ 1Billion savings drive..... Shareholders will be happy.
Anyway, bus still for sale, and I now need to find another job.

It always pains me when I see people put their car up for sale which I know they've put massive amounts of blood, sweat and tears into. But I can see your reasoning for doing so. Sorry to hear about the redundancy - the recession is really biting a lot of people hard. Good luck finding another job, and who knows? Maybe you won't have to sell after all.

Thanks Mate, fortunately we are currently still very much in a position of wanting to sell the bus, rather than having to sell it. My toys are always outside of my mortgage and housekeeping budget, I save up if I want something, and buy it cash when I can afford it, otherwise I stay without..... easy. The bus will just not get much attention for the next few years.

Bit of an update. After we used the Transit bus to move my stuff from my old house to here, which would have been about 7 trips just to get all my "Stuff" from the garage and the old shed, I parked the bus up in the garage at the end of August and have not used it, Myrtle or the teardrop since as we have really been quite busy with the new house, and subsequent to losing my job at the end of October I have been getting down even more with house stuff, breaking down walls, decorating etc. Today I popped into WH Smith while Nicola went bargain hunting at Boots, and found the new January 2011 edition of Classic Van and Pick-up with a 3 page spread on the Taunus Transit. Not a bad article, except for a couple of captions being a bit out on the actual facts. This bus has had its fair share of interest and been in a few publications since I got it. Today is actually the 3 year aniversary of Oldbus Dave delivering it to me.

Weird thing this , being a media whore. Though the bus is still for sale, I find myself thinking bad thoughts about starting the body work etc.

I still have quite a lot to do in the house, my bathroom next, and then some work in the kitchen. Hopefully the world will warm up in the mean time too.
