Hands up who remebers the fiesta!!
Heres a Reminder
I bought the car off ebay in november 2005, id only been a member here for a year or so but it had cirtanly made its mark! At the time we were all feeling 'Euro Look' and I wanted it! The obvious option was to go out and buy a mk1 Golf and some ATS classics and call it done (i attulay seriously considered doing that! )
Somewhere along the line however it clicked, what the hell is the point in copying what eveyone else has got? so I set about trying to find an alternitive route.
In a way it was an obvious choice, on the one hand my previous car was a Ford and I had just finished doing some work on my freinds mk1 XR2 so I knew fiestas well. On the other hand the Fiesta was a simlar shape and style to the golf with its chrome bumpers and square lines. In addition trawling the internet turned up plenty of fiestas but they were all wibblepoo! the only attempts I could find of a euro one were all european and even then they were only boardering on 'good'.
All that added up to one thing, Get a fiesta! So off I went, after having nearly bought a 2 tone Bravo and a Brown Ghia I eventualy spotted LAP113W on ebay, not to far away in Luton the deal was done and it was mine for a mear 400odd quid!
After the aqusition of the car the fun began, what to do? was the question at hand. The first thing I did was chop the springs and then I stumbled across some 5.5x13 steels in the scrap yard which were uber cheap so they got fitted, Something wasnt right tho, It didnt look anything like a 'Euro' car. After puzzleing for a while I decided to try some of the wheels I had laying and on went a set of allycats with race slicks, Dropping it off the jack it looked awsome! I knew what had to be done.
The search began to find another couple of ally cats and after many ebay 'issues' and alot of elbow grease I ended up with these!
By now I had worked out the magic numbers 1, 7, 5, and 50 so on they went!
and thats about where it stopped, the mini was sucking all my time so the only other thing that got fitted was a set of coilovers which I mugged some guy on ebay for (£300!) and a set of clear indicators which at the time were poor quality wobbly children's play pony poop.
Tune in to the next post for what happened next!
