NO WAY! This one I assume Not that I'm casting aspersions or pointing fingers, but unlike MK3 Granadas/Scorpios and 2CVs (!) this one is prime banger fodder isn't it? Any distinguishing features bmcnut?

There was no security on it, that was on the to do list as soon as the mg was sold. The only real distingushing features on it were the lack of sunroof, slight dent in passenger side front door and a very slight kink in the a pillar, and a patch of rust on the rear arch. Whilst it is prime banger fodder I'm keeping the options open. Alot of cars have been stolen for joyriding around here lately and the price of scrap is high at the moment. I'm putting the feelers out everywhere so fingers crossed I get it back.

Nice one, cheers mate. You know when all the naff stuff happens all at once, well the last couple of weeks have been a barrage of $hitness and no that this has happened its like 'oh well, I'm sure it'll sort its self out. Its not the fact that the cars gone, it just the fact that something has been stolen. Ironicly that first post I put up came out as intoxicated off LOL it did make me laugh........
I MEANT PI$$ED OFF!!!!

Sorry but I think its definately been taken to race.
I'm getting fed up of this. I'm going to give up even trying to defend banger racers. No wonder everyone hates us!

If it was racers (and I'm not saying it is) where is it most likely to turn up after being nicked in Reading? Arena Essex? Mk2 Grannies are still quite common on the ovals too aren't they...might be hard to spot amongst a load of others.

That's really sh!tty news, sorry to hear that. Might be worth trawling the local scrappies to see if anyone has tried to off-load it. It seems pikeys see retros as an easy £150 at the weigh-bridge Hope it's found safe and in one piece.

Smelly jelly. Hope it turns up. Preferably in one piece. And not doing laps at Ringwood or Arlington.

I'm in Redhill, surrey and the nearest track is smallfield. The world dirt is on in afew weeks so ill be down there looking, but it could be anywhere in the country by now, that is of course IF its been taken for racing. It could have gone for any reason, weighing in, joyride, whatever, but the fact that its a solid base model manual with no sunroof kind of points me in a certain direction. As Lankey tim said this is really starting to pi$$ me of too. I keep harping on about the fact that its not banger racing thats responsable for nicking cars its the individuals that actualy DO it. I don't know anyone who would nick anyones car for racing, yet once again it appears someone, me, who is in the banger community may have been a victim of the slime sucking curse word smuggling pond life who thinks its ok to nick a car for racing. These people are NOT part of the community, they are their own breed. That said it could be sitting burnt out in a ditch somewhere...........

I have nothing practical to say that the others haven't already said, I'm really sorry to hear your news.
I know it's selfsh but I tend not to look on this stolen section much as it really does wind me up to see people's pride and joy taken from them. I'd be devatated to be a victim, I don't know what I'd do.
My eyes are peeled anyway.

Where was it stolen from? Outside your house?
I will keep my eyes peeled and ear to the ground.

Sorry nothing constructive to say other than f*cking hell - I remember commenting on this car when you got it - and chin up, my mates G reg Mk4 Escort got lifted 3 weeks ago, and turned up 2 weeks later unharmed (against all the odds!) and its at my gaff now waiting for the ignition lock putting back together - we`d given up on it after a week.

Sh*t. I just posted about this kind of thing in the 'destuction' thread... I had a MK2 Ghia X go missing from Hove. Nearest track to reigate would be smallfields, but arlington or wimbledon would be fair game too, but most racers have a yard full of cars for racing, and if they have any sense they will either keep it at the back of the yard for a while, or race it at one of thefar away tracks like Yarmouth/ipswitch/hednesford etc. This kind of sh*t is why I turned my back on Banger racing.
EDIT: Yes I am blatantly accusing said group, as I know it goes on, and its not the kind of car that 17 y/o joyriders will thieve, or pikeys would bother with really, unless they inted to sell it onto a banger boy.
