Registration B864 GFG. My mate just rang me up to tell me his car had been stolen A neighbour told him four 20 odd year olds had pushed it out the carpark and hot wired it on the street. Lives in Runcorn area, don't know what you can do but thought I'd post it here just in case. Here's a pic. 60,000 miler, very rare car. It was safe to say he didn't sound too happy

Happened to my mates Nova once... they stole it from outside his house,.. it was found a few miles down the road, just parked up. Police reckoned someone wanted to get home and didn't want to pay for a cab!! Door was bent and ignition all mashed up.
Glad it got recovered.

He's been to see it today and they managed to blow up the diff and a hole in the side of the gearbox, but he's going to get it fixed and keep her on the road.
...and upgrade security!

^^^^ Bloody hell! Probably saved it in a way, it might have been torched if the scum had been given the chance to have their fun out of it and dump it somewhere of their choosing. Glad he's got it back and is planning on fixing it though, good on him

Some serious rag-age I suppose! It's not like these cars are built like tinfoil either

They can occaisionally explode at random - not sure why it happens, but I've seen it on banger raced bluebirds one once or twice - bits of casing generally fly out at artillary-like velocity... I'd check very carefully where they have lodged themsleves in this case... If it's any consolation, it will have scared the wibblepoo out of the little bstards who thieved it as they go "bang" in a big way!

Hi all. I was looking for a Newbie Forum but it wasn't there, so I'll say Hi here
hey Jack, thanks for posting this here Anyway, this is my 'bird. And after alot of arsing about is now almost back on the road. I picked up a new gbox but the selector shaft is different to the U11, (it was a T12 box, ) so just waiting for that to turn up, but otherwise, she's a good runner again.
I also picked up a t12 ignition barrel which has the button to release, but the U11 didn't have this feature, so some cutting of the cowling was required.
Eventually, I will get it sorted properly. But at least it was saved, and still in working order.

It was safe to say he didn't sound too happy Jack, that has got be the understatement of the year. And your post was done whilst I was tearing around town in the Transit trying to find the bastards that did this. If I'm honest, I'm glad I didn't catch them, else I'd probably be doing time now and you'd have to plan JAE

I knew I'd been here before.... Unfortunately the U11 never made it back to the road. The gearbox and selectors never matched up and then other faults were discovered that just weren't financially viable. I do miss this baby. Right then...

It is sadly gone to the scrap heap in the Sky. Sorry I do have a gearbox and a brand new clutch kit if wanted.

The engine lives on, or it did, in a T12 in the Buxton and Oldham areas.
