I have a very definite recollection of reading in a magazine that Tru=Spoke wheels had gone back into production and that theyhad a website, and my memory says it was truspoke.net - which it isn't because thats just one of those shiitty webspages that doesn't have anything on it but stil manages to get on Google. wanquers
So rather than sharing the good news with a link, having read through all the "news" and "product" sections of all the mags I can find lying about and not being able to find anything
and not being able to find anythign via Google
I'm here to ask, is it all justa beautiful dream or are one of the iconic custom wheels of the 1970s back in business?
(yes, I know McCleans do a clone of the original cap-less (Buick copy) Tru=Spoke, but I was after the full cap type, and the original brand....)

Nothing beats the real thing though. www.truespoke.netwith an E. Seen the price of used Tru=Spokes though? Some very strong prices being paid for them. and genuine Skylark wires are second mortgage money now. As your Riv should be 5 x 5" (assuming its a RWD one) then a set of the optional factory fit wires off a Cadillac DeVille or Fleetwood (late 70s through 1992 RWD model) would do the trick nicely, albeing without the reverse offset... I'm after a set... Only ones I can find are on a car at the mo though...

Wasn't the original feature in Classic American?
I like 'em but prefer KOs. Mmm, Dayton (I know they're later but god damn they look god).

Daytons are too Pimp for me... Fine on a juiced, Candyl painted Impala or Monte carlo but not for me... Nothing wrong with them but I am after that Bellflower Look, Turnouts, Wires or Astro's, Speedboat rake, Fogging, Lace, angel hair.... Heres mine... Its having two new air pumps installed at the moment, had to spend the money for my Wheels on these after the old one failed at the Spring Riot.. It will hopefully getting a Mild Shave and a Re-paint over the Winter, along with a few more things from my Like list....

Yeah, your ride definitely suits the seventies school of customising. Are they genuine Cragers? Also, if you're into that sort of thing, these have just been reissued: From: www.mdctinc.com/colorbar.html

Nice Buick. Those are Astro Supreme's Matt. Dayton do (or at least did) do some proper old school wheels, they go back a way themselves. They make most of their money on chintzy knock-off stuff now though, and fair comment, thats what the kids want, thats what the kids buy. My favourite was the Tru=Classic by Tru=Spoke and they aren't available new McLeans do something similar, but its just not the same Damn Cragar Star-Wire is only available in 4.5 and 4.75" PCD and not the 5". Meh
