At last......now just got to fit it all...... :-D Also, the water pump has decided to give up the ghost peeing water everywhere in the works car park this morning as in some sort of protest. :-D So have ordered one from GSF, alond with new cambelt, which will have got wet anyway = change it. In other news, been mulling over engine choices, as its clear I NEED something else, still like the idea of small and revvish. So - Polo 1.4 16v lump, possibly on bike throttle bodies, Polo G40 gearbox ( as they have an LSD from the factory - if I can find one ) . and thats about it really, I suspect I'll end up with bike carbs or OE factory ECU.......any suggestions !?? Happy spannering.

AND !! The list ever gorws ( although nout too hardcore ) Replace a handbrake cable. Change a rear wheel bearing. Find out why main beam light comes on dimly when headlamps get switched on ( will look at this when I replace a couple of blown bulbs in the clock display ) Fit my OE VDO dials ( volts, oil temp and oil press ) in the centre console. Fit air horns ( sick of folk not seeing me - HOW !?!?! ) Get GTi anti roll bars powder coated and on. Fit rest of polybushes- steering rack, rear suspension etc.. Paint steelies and find apropriate rubber.. Should keep me busy.

I am also looking into a 1.4 16v Twincam engine swap into my small block but with the standard 5 speed polo coupe box (for cost and availability). don't know if you've seen this - but its helpin with my plannin: www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t174544.htmlCheers, Miles.

Busy morning in the garage.........parked it up with warnings of grave consequences if it misbehaved during the procedure... Thankfully, everything went smoothly....so smoothly in fact I forgot to take many pics.....ahem... Old and new wishbones, powder coated original GTi ones, polys, 80 shore A . lower strut brace on... and all back together.....much sharper now, also ordered an ashley exhaust manifold to treat the old thing, although worried that it might fit past the strut brace,,,,,,,hmmm,,,,,,

A parcel arrived today !! Whats this ?? Its my spanking new exhaust manifold... Although I'm not all that plussed with the paint finish on it, so , going to make sure it fits ok, strip off all the paint it came with and coat it with some PROPER thick exhaust colourage - suggestions please, need something that sticks like excrement to a blanket.

A SILVER mk1 driver !? Never seen one, and both my drivers are dodgy colours - Papyrus Green and Sand metallic.... anyway Here ya go, and NO, i wont be painting neon green or something juvinille like that.. :-D and the finish, some nice thick VHT paint will bond very nicely to this ... Tomorrow - buy a new outer CV joint and fit it, paint manifold, check anti-freeze maybe fit manifold ?? hehe, need to find a centre/intermitant pipe for the centre of the exhaust from a 1.1 mk1 - why ?? because its a straight through with no silencer......just a back box for me.

I do actually want another, have for a long time but keep finding myself buying E30's instead as they are a lot cheaper Yea that was a Zender rear spoiler, both of my Drivers had them when i bought them. BWish i still had those spoilers stashed as much as i still had a Mk1, funnily enough it wasn't on there when i saw it on ebay recently.
