I think it's pretty cool! Anyone chinning about the lack of things done to it, think on this for a moment, some of the coolest cars I've seen have been the simplest. There's no hard and fast rule book to say exactly what should and shouldn't be done, what constitutes a modified car, and exactly how ground breaking it should really be, that's the whole point of the modification scene to me. No matter what has or hasn't been done, the plain fact is it looks good, so what does it matter? I can remember a chap on here had a Silver Triumph Acclaim, it was slammed over Cav alloys, and though that was very little in the way of mods, it looked awesome! Looks wise, I'm not the original fan of the GD / GG, but 10/10 for this particular one!

It would make a nice daily with the tat removed off the roof. I have two thoughts: 1. it doesn't appear to exactly be much modified. Its lowered, painted a different colour and has some roof rack tat on it. Hardly the last word in radiacl modified cars is it? 2. its a car which needs very little doing to it in order for it to look the business. (in fact that one has had a little too much done to it) Maybe we should all give up trying to sort out the problems and issues of modifying older cars and just roll decent moderns then? surely point 2 gives a reason for point 1? i never said it was 'radiacl' just a bit of out the box thinking even so, painting a modern matt black still takes some cajones.....as we are in a world where resale value appears to be king.

the two points were meant to contradict each other.
I think matt /satin black paint is mainstream enough now that it won't hurt reasle too much. You can order a bunch of high end cars in satin black form the factory now.
What I don't get is why its considered so AWEZUMZ ZOMG WOWZERZ to paint a car satin black rather than say, bright red, or white.
It looks well on this one to be sure.

Its not blue, doesn't have gold wheels and isn't covered in badly cut 555 graphics. Therefore I like it because its a bit different from the norm.

Its certainly striking thats for sure, but after some inspection and studying I can see why its not for me. Kinda like Robocop going touring. kinda different, kinda inspiring... Theres a lot of potential in some newer cars, styling wise at least, but being 'retroers' thats not where our main interests lie is it? I'll pimp summat new-ish one day but till then I'll play with the old tat I always fancied.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

theres a lot of moderns I would be happy to own if they weren't so damn expensive and didn't depreciate so bad.

I can admire anybody who sprays a relatively valuable/modern car in a satin finish, no matter how formulaic people view it as being. You can also see the front hoop of a roll cage in the passenger side, so it may well be very modified. It's the old Cosworth RS scenario, it could be a plain jane or 500bhp monster. More credit if it's the latter and he's kept it subtle. As usual you can never judge with just one picture, and yes maybe we've seen this before on other cars... But on something a little different? Why not. I would. I like the mirrors too... They continue the line from the bonnet and curl back around into the A pillar, for me, they work.

not a big fan of the mirrors but not sure if it would be enough to change them if i owned it lol. i would however get rid of the front scoop to go with the deleted rear spoiler (thats if you actually can?)

Its the air intake for the TMIC (top mount IC), so you really can't go removing it too much!

No matter how hard you try you just cant pick holes in a car that looks cool like that, you just look like a chump.

I like it.WHo cars its so hugely "scene",it looks ace and to be fair,it is different. I kinda like the fact it has the mirrors on it!I think the fact that the guys who created it clearly has "it" and is fairly unlikely to like the mirrors themselves,I would imagine they're done very tongue in cheek

WHo cars its so hugely "scene", I don't care TBH. I'm just amused by the dislike of the RWD Escort/PerformanceVW/aircooled/shinypaint hotrod scenes double standard that goes on. Scenes FTW TBH. ;D And the Imp, Bin the roofrack IMHO.
