Well Off with the starter, so i need an english 14mm ;D nice access Sorted starter, 2 brushes totally worn out and 2 nearly gone, i could stop it with my hand Off down to the barn and pinched an Imp one. The mountings were different but I can use the brush assembly, but to save time I modified the mounting, It now goes again, just had a fiddle with the carb and put fuel in and it seems ok.

Great story! I like that you factored in a road-side kip in your newly-bought retro too - proper road-trippin'! ;D I'm sure the problems won't be much - can't be a lot to go wrong on those, surely?! Looks great in the photos. This was my bedroom thursday night ;D ;D coundnt see anything when I arrived at 12ish but woke to severe beuty ;D ;D

So glad that you are enjoying the car. Nick's right, I genuinely didn't know that the chassis had got that scabby and it was interesting to hear your views on Waxoyl! Suffice it to say that most bits of the Dolomite will be treated with a Dinitrol product instead. You're not the first person to have slept in a Rebel, you probably won't be the last either, FWIW, I feel sh*te about the disappointment that you felt about those chassis issues, but relieved to see that you have been having fun playing with the car since getting it back down the road. I'm at a loss to understand why the oil leaked from the rocker joint after I did that quick fix with the sealant, hope it didn't lose too much but, at the same time, wishing the thing could have leaked some oil into its chassis during the past few years. If it's any kind of comfort to you, I'm being teased mercilessly at Popular Classics where they are suggesting that I'm some sort of latter day Arthur Daley. And I should really change my avatar now I suppose, and maybe the user name too......... Admin, HELP!

You were parked in The Hole of Horcum carpark on the top of Saltersgate! If you'd asked, you could have driven another few hundred yards and had a bed for the night!!!
