I do have a soft spot for nicely done Commodores. Especially the Opel ones - probably because they're just that little bit different to the Aussie ones. Good to see bits for Commodores are similar prices world-wide. I just paid $250 for a 4.2L V8 for mine Does it have the rather cool but incredibly dodgy "Vaccuum economy gauge" like mine? Opel Commodores are completely different, not "just that little bit different" !! The Holden Commodore used the Senator/monza shell and later the Carlton/Senator B shell, and even later, the Omega shell... Anyway, Newcastle hey... Gimme a buzz next time you're down in Sydney town

are these the same shell as Holden commodores back in NZ? The one I have is only Opel Commodore\Opel Rekord and some car named Ranger in Canada The commo c, the last pic I posted, I think Holden used that body on at least one commodore.. Didnt get the engine picked up today, due to some issues with moving some stuff for a friend And apparently, its not as healthy as first thought. Will still pick it up and have a look, i get another 3 litre with dead crank bearings with it aswell.

Thanks! And no, its mine all mine ;D Plan currently, change the drivechain and sprockets for some new-ish ones I have on the 430000km 3 litre, and use that, and in the meantime get the other one stroked to 3.6, with some additional fettling Oh, and vented discs all round, cause the solid disc + drums just wont cut it, hehe

Good news! Someone from the norwegian opel motorsport club have started up a firm for selling opel parts, and will most likely get 60mm lowering kits for the Commo B made by Apex, great! Means i wont have to change springs every 2 years for the EU-control ;D

Unfortunately not got any pics i can post up on here but had a comodore gs/e coupe same colour as yours with the 3lt. Managed to wedge some bmw turbine 18" replica lorinsers under the arches with heated coils to lower and a stainless exhaust. God i miss those red velour seats, it was like taking you sofa on a long drive.
Looking forward to seeing this progress. ;D

Well, no wonder it was making lots of rattling sounds ;D Luckily, i have a parts engine with spanking new chain guides, more to come... (and i can get some cleaning done on this engine )

Yeah, this one`s run 430000km`s, and i cant really see any wear at all on the drivechain or wheels, probably changed, but you never know. I have a 2.4 4 cylinder that`s run 380000, and its also just fine, nice and tight, no rattling It`ll be a few weeks before i get the parts needed to get it running though, will spend the time dismantling the other engine, and see if i can get the crank stroked to 3.6l. Hehe, already sold parts of both the engines for more than 3 times the amount i gave for them though ;D

I really should get to spending more time (more importantly, money) on the Commodore, but I just cant say no when offered an old car for not much money Its a curse Got 1200SR dash and centre console instruments on its way for it, along with parts of a 1.6 front crossmember. Just need the sway bar and lower wishbones, and i can get a larger engine approved in it Hipo in germany sells TÜV papers for the C20LET in these babies
