Sunbeam rear panels are hard to find, a friend paid £400 for a new Talbot one.

Nice to see another S2 Sunbeam. I'd recommend the Avenger & Sunbeam Owners Club www.asoc.co.uk they are very friendly bunch

Absolutley minging colour scheme, you might as well put a brown stripe on it. Yuk ;D I`m a very happy bunney today as my beam flew through it Mot,ain`t used it for over a year as I was spending on other things. Bloody brakes were a pain in the to sort out as its been standing for so long (handbrake off). Getting the drums off was a mission so I invested in a puller, should have had one years ago. Nice black and silver one you have their mate. How long you had it ? (Sorry to hijack the thread Mr Squidian)

As I did`nt go I did`nt see it, is this the car on the ASOC forum which you bought and had a small oil leak that was doing your head in ? Mine does it aswell (not much)just fills around the rear spark plug occationally ,does`nt bother me as most of them do it.I tried resealing the inlet cam cover but it did`nt work.I just put up with it and keep an eye on the oil. My next job a oil and fiter change but I need to source some good oil at a resonable price (any suggestions ?) If thats the car i`m thinking of did you get it sorted ?

My next job a oil and fiter change but I need to source some good oil at a resonable price (any suggestions ?) If thats the car i`m thinking of did you get it sorted ? Yes that's me alright, I've calmed down now since then ;D. I haven't fixed the oil leak yet, but I've bought all the parts ready for as and when I do. The leak is coming from the front of the exhaust cam carrier and its down to a little 'O' ring that sits around a small cylinder head to cam carrier locating pin which is also used for the oil feed to the cam carrier. I've got someone to do the job when I've the money, so will probably get it done when it goes back on the road next spring. I use Valvoline 20/50 Race oil in all my Avenger's & Sunbeam's, from the standard 1500 road car to my Sunbeam Lotus and Avenger Tiger race car, I've used it for 20 years ever since my mate recommended, he used it in his Sunbeam Lotus at the time which he used to hillclimb and sprint, its good stuff. I'd recommend that you use a genuine 'LOTUS' filter as well.

To tell you the truth what`s the big deal with the genuine Lotus filter ? I`ve got a few Motorquip ones so will use them for now,i`ve never used a genuine filter since i`ve owned it and i`ve had no problems what so ever. I bet the Lotus filter is made by Fram or some other company, lotus just stick their name on it and bump the price up. Has anyone ever opened up a used filter to check whats so special about it ? Its kinda like the rotor arm, your supposed to have the one with the built in rev limiter (retail £60) and that was years ago, needless to say I opted for the standard £3 one without the limiter. If its proven that the lotus filter is special in some way then I will obviously start using them.

not really touched it tbh! i managed to source 2 brand new series one headlamps. 2 drivers side indicators in good nick and a grill don't worry. the pic is of the light I'm using as a pattern the new lights are a universal fit and i need to attach some form of bracketry for the headlamp ajusters.

dayyym aint touched this thread in a while the majority of the welding is done now, this probs wont make sense as I'm copying it from other forums well update finally folks! got the beam down to my work and i had a good few hours weldathon tonight more updates rear 1/4 all done and made a start on the drivers side set about doing a small bit under the arch then tackled the nasty looking still. wasnt expecting it to be mint but this was taking the curse word  got the thicker metal out and made up the jacking point again and finally made up the inner sill over the top far from done in their yet but well on its way this is what we call a 'pile of sunbeam' and one of it looking sorry for its self been shopping and collected these from walsall also got this which ive needed for ages all of the welding I'm going to do is finished now, just ready for my dad to fit a new front pannel, my wings and do some little bits of alkward welding thats about it. what do people think to this? its off my fiesta, and it fits soo well. I'm tempted to use these instead of shelling out on new f/g sunbeam ones tbh!

What is off a Fiesta? The bumper? Looks a lot better than the OEM one.
