Damn, I meant to check that last night too. But got distracted looking through boxes of bits. Some cool old stuff in there. But what are these ones for? Never seen them on an anglia before these are just little bits of chrome to go on the dash or a deluxe, to go round the heater oles facing the windscreen, just to neaten it up a bit I guess they then decided to install the dash tops to the Supers and the Later Deluxes. HTH Wil.

Looks great. Those wheels look a bit wide to be 5.5J Lotus steels. They look like 6 or 6.5" wide to me. RARE.

Thanks for the tip on the chrome bits maximusprime. No doubt there will be more questions like that one! Had a look at the engine number on the block over the weekend too. Its 105E6015. Think that was right. It might have been 106E, it was a bit hard to see. Awesome news on the wheels too I gotta get my finger out and get 'em blasted and cleaned up.

sweet yeh 105e 6015 would be correct, makes it the 997 then i think... unless 1200 and 1340s were made early enuf to be 105e blocks ( as i said before there all the same block ) as for the wheels, id be interested in seeing some pics of these once blaste and tyreless, as i would like to compare them to my 6.5 lotus steels, which so far look a total differnt shape. heres one of mine and here it is next to a normal 5.5 lotus steel

Those are some fat wheels those 6.5s That 6.5 steel looks a whole lot wider that the ones I have. Mine could be 6s I guess, but from those pics they're more likely to be 5.5s.

Well there you go. I had the tyres taken off 2 of them today. Stamped on the inside is:
6.0JKX13 9 74 ROH 3353 DEV D
(The other one was just 6.JK etc. Someone missed the 0 I think)
So looks like they're 13x6s. They have a little rust around the edges, but hopefully that'll blast off ok and they'll come up a treat. The middles are black and look to be in excellent condition. The tubes were stuck to the tyre and took some pulling out, and a couple of the beads are stuffed. I'll have to use the tyres as ornaments for my shed instead.
I didn't have the camera with me, but I'll get some pics next time I'm down there.
Whats a good size modern tyre that fits on a 13x6 wheel? No balloons, something nice and low profile. 195/60 R13, or something like that??

I reckon 195/60 sounds spot on. I want something lowish profile, no balloons. Grabbed some pics of the nude wheels. And the blurb.

They look like they'll clean up fine, are they a bit special with that bead ridge? never noticed one before, some one will know for sure.

Got some finish friends that are in the very top of the world when it comes to mastering 1/24(1/25) scale modelcars. What You see is a generic 105E, made with shut hood, chassis, interior(LHD), stock wheels, grill, lights and bumpers. They sell for arround 80£.

Picked my wheels up from being blasted and powder coated this morning. They look nice and smooth. But I'm not real happy with the colour. I was hoping from more silver than the grey. Ah well. They'll have to do for now. We'll stick a tyre and a hubcap on it and see how they look then.

Great project, I think the wheels look good in grey myself. Love all the old stuff it came with. Hopefully all the bits for the above conversion are there?
