I won this baby off of ebay last week (Toyota owners may know the seller.....Bob Clarke from Bristol) I picked it up today and saw it for the first time and it's as minty fresh as it looks in the pics. It drove the 120 miles home faultlessly, including a short spell at the dizzying speed of 80 (speedo indicated) and though a random snowstorm! I feel a bit seasick now though with the bouncy ride! All the doors and boot shut effortlessly with a reasuring clunk and it's as straight as you'll see a car down the sides. I'm well chuffed! I just lurrrve the rear Console mounted rev counter Shiney clean

That's in incredible condition...it's almost a shame that you're going to have to 'adjust' it. ;D
Reversible mods only eh?

It's gotta be really hasn't it...I don't think it needs much really apart from the regulation RR mods...stick n rim. One thing it does need though is a 5 speed box. So if anyone knows of a spare box that used to sit behind an 18r then i'm all ears.

Yeah, the back end is my fave bit......the japanese really came up with some interesting tail lights back in the 70's Wow. Your TA22 not enough...? ;D Is it restored or the car time forgot? Engine bay looks easily big enough for a 1UZ. *joke* It's had a respray, and the bits like brackets and bolts re-dipped,but i think it's pretty original apart from that.....And believe me,i've already had the 1uz thoughts,it'd be great with the autobox too! But no,no chopping.....maybe an 18rg though ;D

Very nice car! Somehow only the 2 door variants have survived because this is the first time I see a 4 door Mark II.

Right.....bit of an update. So far i've lowered it a lot, stuck the 7.5 x 15 konigs on off the supra, but i had to change the front tyres to 195/50s from 205s because they wouldn't go under the arches.I had to fettle the arches a little too to get the tyres under.I'm happy with the look, but the front may have to come up a couple of cms because of travel issues.I chucked the mudflaps too and fixed a couple of very minor rust holes in the rear inner arches where the rear seat bolts down. While i was under the arches i replaced the lower ball joints and front shocks because it came with new spares so i thought i may aswell. All i've done to the outside other than that is stick on a golf cl front lip. Inside,i took all the carpets out and washed them, along with the centre console to get rid of the 36 years of dust and skin I also fitted a cd/telly on the shelf under the glovebox to avoid cutting the dash, and some el cheapo pod/shelf speakers so i didn't have to cut the parcel shelf.I added the steering wheel from the supra and I've stuck in an old man blanket and a subway ring too because i can. Under the bonnets,i've made a filter out of an old pod filter, but i won't put that on until it gets a bit warmer.I changed the leads for some nice 8mm blue silicon ones i had. changed the dizzy cap, removed an old dormant electronic ign unit and had a little polish and tidy up. Future plans include making a new exhaust for it because the old one is no more than in inch in diameter in places! And fit the celica gt p51 5 speed box i've aquired for it. Anyway.....pics
