Questions - Rotary + bike Carbs... any ideas??? I have a set of bike carbs sitting in my garage and thinking of using them on the 12a engine, what are the thoughts? I assume I can find out the flow rate for the engine and build a manifold up, maily because my mate would like his 390CFM holley back for a V8 project.

^^ Following our dicussion the answer is no, lol! MPG. . . some would be nice!
Anyhow little update will get pictures loaded tonight as long as the dang camera works..
Finalla found some good weather last night and fitted the replacement diff (supplied by seth way back when) along with new UJ's across the rear as the old's ones were, looses yes thats a good word.
Also fitted a spitfire rear spring and 'adjusted the mounts to suit ride height want.
Just need to sort the prop end out to suit the new diff patten then bleed the brakes up.
Oh and i need some shorter springs for the front as the coilovers are as low as they car go, now the rear is dropped (wheel tuck in arch Wohoo!) the front are down but really need to go lower, perhaps some 5" springs insted of 8".
Pics to follow showing new lowness!

cheers, didn't want to hijack the thread sorry, nothing I could find mentioned when/if the rear suspension was ever uprated The rear suspension was changed on the MKIV/1500 to the swing spring. IIRC it's a simple bolt on mod and with a set of adjustable shocks they handle extremely well ! Cracking build btw. That rotary sits in there nicely.

Totally correct, much better that the original design, add in a 1" lowering block and the drill the uprights 1.5" down from the original mounts and sit it propper low with some nice camber for a change, lol! carn't wait to get me car out now! Don't forget to uprate to a 1500 roll bar as well!

Update . . More progress following death of the diff. . . all in the name of getting back on the road. New diff fitted in, and while at the rear end, superflex bushes fitted to the diff mounts and rear arms, bit hard to see but it’s there honest also lowered the car 1.5” by doing this. . mount point lowered and the spring safety hook chopped off to clear the brake lines. Have to work out on the drive currently so it’s a dash out between rain to try and get this sorted and back on the road, access one side is tight tho now the rear is lower (no photo yet of finished ride height) I also wound down the front’s some more, might have to get shorter springs yet tho, see how it handles bumps first. and a quick one showing new fog’s and indicators fitted to the front last one for now, new sticker from Dee, (cheers!) IOW Graphix. now once the rain has stopped again I’ll get the prop all bolted up, diff filled with oil and UJ’s greased up. Then it’s just the . . Tacho / carpets / tunnel / oil cooler / expansion tank to sort, short but time consuming list! And yes I know I said I was gonna get the lowness pic's but i lifted it up to finish the prop last night and didn't get pic's first. sorry. how to get it back on the floor soon and pics will be ready!

I like this....
Just watch how low you go, 'cause if you go too low you'll end up with so much negative camber that only about 1/2 the tyre tread will touch the road. This is worse with wider, lower profile tyres and you end up with damn all rear end grip, especially in the wet

I was in this with roy yesterday, and it handles really well, its very tight, although it does have a habit of squirming a bit under hard acceleration.
It is very low now, and looks the dogs danglies with minimal scrapage!!!

^^ To be honest it's still too much, but I'm not sure how much hehe. Planning on getting some shorter springs for the front coilovers so I can go a bit further, only thing to scrape is the exhaust (on very bumpy roads only) but have planned a re-route of that higher next to the chassi.
