No pics I'm afraid, but I do have a love for gassers, and the thought of P6 gasser makes me moisten my George by ASDA pants. Got any pics of the P6 in question? Chris EDIT! Pikk ee tures found! Random truck spotted in Vegas... This Olds belongs to a friend of mine in the States... The 57 belongs to his pal... My mate Howard, with his Olds... That 57 again... And finally, some Gasser porn.. Chris

I'm forever undecided on Gassers......when I was at York Raceway a couple of years back there was a BM 7 Series with a Small block V8 (Chevvy I think!) Which was cool.

Awesome pics Chris!! Yeah that's the kind of thing i'm thinking of There's a thread on the P6 project in reader's rides Andy998imp- I joined the P6 owners forum and i'm really suprised how open minded they are to modifying! There's a guy two-dooring one, making a convertible, and Sowen from this forum is on there with his nicely modded P6. I know what you mean though, your typical P6 owner might not be too impressed! Speedman- Woah!! P5! That's amazing!! I'm going to try to find more info on that one!!

I have to say that if I had to choose an automotive era to go back to, it would be the whole A/FX Gasser era of the early/mid 1960's. Without it there'd have been no Muscle Cars either!

;D Hastings? or Brighton? Brighton, last year after the VW show Brighton Breeze, we were heading back to the camper from the pier and it just appeared and burbled through the traffic ;D

I think you need to fit one of these Jaguar IRS units underneath the back of the p6: You'll have a seperate crossmember which carries the lower arms and diff nose mount which looks to be in the correct place for the two lower arms in the picture above, and with a little jiggery pokery that could be fitted and running in a weekend Then to lift the front up, and give you more room for the engine, the matching subframe assembly formt the front could be fitted: You'll have a wider choice of wheels, unbreakable rear axle, better front brakes and the stance Here's my p6:

something to do with factory experimental ^^ - it's the altered wheelbase ones iirc
for teh gasser stance on the front, apparently you can space the front suspension to raise it up - my mate (who was BL 'back in the day') recalls doing something similar to the front suspension of stags to get the handling right - using marine ply!?!?

Yeah yeah yeah.... Gasser P6 would look cool. Lose the front bumper and lower front panel. Leaf springs n a straight beam front axle. 9 inch under the back. Blower hanging out the hood....... I would forgive you if you just stuck a scoop through. Metal flake paint.... Oh yeah...... I wanna build a Zepher gasser .... Hang on....... I see a plan!

You need both these books in your life: Gasser Wars is out in paperback now, Amazon have it for £18. Super Stock is still only in hardback, so is £30. Both books are absolutely BRILLIANT, Larry Davis was in the thick of the scene back then so he really knows his stuff, both volumes are copiously illustrated with hundreds of really evocative period pics too.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

For those (like me) who don't know all that much about the differences between Gassers, A/FX, Street Freaks etc., there's an interesting (if a little opinionated) thread I found on H.A.M.B.Also there is this excellent Gasser Madness site. Click on the "History" bit and have a read. It's all interesting stuff.
