And of course, the Chrysler 180, gorgeous car, seven left. I'd have one of these - lovely! The old man's architect mate always had 'interesting' cars back in the 70s, a 180 and a 2-litre being bookended by R16s. Did the 180 have Avenger front doors? They look very similar...

the 180 is a bigger Avenger in a lot of respects but I'm sure no parts transfer. Not even mechanical stuff as its a Simca developed car. They were built on an entirely separate production line in France (also Spain and Australia)
By Extinct do you mean in the UK or worldwide?
Despite only being 7 in the UK the Chrysler 180 was sold world wide and I bet there are plenty still in places like Portugal, Spain, Malta, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, etc. where they were sold as the Chysler Centura (or some similar spelling), Simca 1609, Talbot 1800, Talbot 2-litre and I think I even heard tell of a Peugeot badged version.
If you mean extinct world-wide then some low volume UK-only models must be gonners by now without exports to dry poor economy places to help survival rates.

I had a Chrysler 2-Litre in the mid 90's. Metallic British Racing Green (was originaly pale metallic green) with a mint dark green velour interior. Had a dodgy (manual) gearbox, and in one of those 'it-seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time' moments I fitted (read: bodged) a twin choke webber off a Cortina to do away with the auto choke... . Sold it to a guy who was restoring a Borgward Isabella... The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for TVV 660W are: Date of Liability 26 06 1998 Date of First Registration 05 09 1980 Year of Manufacture 1980 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1981CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GREEN Vehicle Type Approval null Maybe it's still around... 180s and 2-Litres were usualy killed off by rot in the front chassis members where the suspension tie bars were mounted, mine had been very neatly repaired, whoever did it was so proud they had welded their initials on the plates! Cam wear was another problem, I had a spare head in which the cam had like 2-3mm deep grooves in it the width of the rocker arm pads...
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Yugo 45A? Saw one today in Totton (no camera with me) being driven by an old timer. Never seen one on the road before Hope so, as they are very cool - similar treatment to a mk1 golf would work well!

I almost bought one in 1986 when I passed my test. It was the 45 Sport or something. It was all bodykit and spoilers from the factory. To someone who knew diddley about cars back then, it looked quite smart really- a sort of poor man's mk2 XR2.....

Is there a road worthy Talbot Tagora left? I know its like the holy grail, but is there any out there to find? Stevenage is the place for them. 2 have been spotted in the same car park there in the last six months. This was one of them.

Chrysler 180s definitely exist because I did a video of one driving around a few weeks ago.
I would say the car most likely to be completely extinct in the UK from the ones posted is the Stanza T11 3-door Hatchback that plums clearly fancies, there were 3 registered in 2005 or so.
The thing is with cars perceived to be bad is that they tend to survive in some numbers through kitsch appeal. The cars most in danger are things which were both unspectacular and rare, the Stanza Hatch sums that up perfectly as we only got them in a pretty dull spec. On top of that, they are known to both rot a bit and blow their headgaskets.
I reckon the Honda Quintet has a good chance of being totally extinct here, things don't seem to be looking great for the Mazda Montrose 4-door saloon either.

About 10 years ago, there were loads of Citreon BX's, no there seem to be barely any. friend of mine not long since sold a Bx 4x4 which was brilliant - not a spot of rust on the body and after being off the road 3 years it walked an MOT no probs! Wicked cars - fiberglass bonnet and rear quater panels as standard on the 4x4's!

Not sure about the UK, despite being kinda thin on the ground, they have a fairly solid following here in the USA and in parts of Mexico.

I've been using the ebay test - if there isn't one for sale on ebay, it's rare.
Here's my most surprising result.
Toyota Space Cruiser - not so long ago there was loads and now suddenly there's none.

They come up under a different name sometimes, try looking for "Model F". I see one fairly regularly near me! I thought of another one, Mazda 323 Panel Van, these were advertised in the brochures so presumably sold here (pic nicked from Michiel), never seen one: Also the Lonsdale saloon and estate - Australian-built Mitsubishi Galants rebadged to get around import laws.

A 1981-1984 colt 1400 Turbo. I know some exist in other countries but I have not seen one here in 12 years, and even then the 2 I did see were both at the scrap yard. One was parked outside complete waiting to be scraped and I sat in it, but my dad would not save it. He said that I could get one any time when I was older and that there are lots of them. Its my favorite all time car and I will own one or two oneday even If I have to import one. If anyone ever sees one in a scrap yard or even in a garden rotting let me know and I will save it. And a second car tredia Turbo
