hi everyone new to the forum, thought I would post up some pics of my car
its a 1969 vw beetle 1300
I'm the 3rd owner from new, its had two very small repairs behind the running boards and that it - no other welding!
engine specs are -
original engine fully stripped and checked
1641cc pistons and barrells
ported twin port heads
009 dizzy
twin choke webber carb
standard exhaust due to ground clearance issues!
body -
40 years or weathering!
suspension -
front -
4" narrowed beam with shocks
sway away adjusters
cb performance 2.5" drop spindles
shortened steering arms
track rod ends flipped upside down to clear feul tank
extra travel ball joints
uprated short shocks
rear-
lowered 3 splines
notched rear springplates
uprated short shocks
wheels-
marathon beetle steels with 135/15 tyres up front
155/15 tyres on rear
interior-
as vw intended and still in great shape!
this has taken me nearly 2 years to get it as it is, everything has been done by myself including engine rebuild and making the front beam!
