That film would never translate if they made a U.K based remake. For a start the traffic would be a nightmare with the "chase" scenes all at 5MPH, on the open road the truck would be limited to 56MPH and after 4hours 30mins of driving the evil truck driver would have to stop for a tacho break. VOSA would have him for no mudguards on his tractor unit too.

I loved that movie and good to see the truck is alive and well. The tanker looks like it could made into some wicked mobile-home too. ;D

This truck popped up on the net quite a few years back and it's great to see it's still preserved, along with a replica of Snow Mans truck being built lets hope more movie trucks make appearances such as the Mad Max 2 tanker, the Knight Industries KITT deployment truck, Blue Thunder, the Toys R Us green latern truck from Maximum Overdrive and more
I believe the choice of specific truck for duel was no mistake as Spielberg had a casting with a load of trucks being considered before he found the right one.
Also worth a note that the 'killdozer' in the recent Planet Terror is an excellent homage to classic movie trucks and actually a real rig found left for dead by a member of the production crew.
