I'm sure that from the uptake on here there's going to be more than enough people to be working on two or three little projects, with plenty of overlap and new skills taught and immediately forgotten! I can't put into words how excited I am about this, mainly because I hope to get the carbs on the fiesta and the thing running smooth, but also because there's going to be something special started that hopefully we can carry through with enough momentum to show some cars at next years gathering that are more finished than not, and are true "forum" cars. It also helps that Clare is off to Croyde for the weekend and as such I've a free pass that means I can finally [hopefully] get the fiesta running, off the drive and through a ticket before getting it back up for sale with more success than previous attempts. It's going to be like an automotive episode of Ground Force that should result in a win win triple win score on the home and car front. Excellent. At the last count the list of jobs is: front bumper bracket to be welded back onto bumper. Painted and get it back on the car. Carb is off at the moment but has been cleaned up and is ready to go back on so should just need a check over and a refit. X series twin carbs could be fitted ;D but the fitting for the accelerator cable through the manifold has sheared and so needs fixing [if I get photos up could anyone advise a course of action?] Brakes will need loosening up after sitting so long, interior needs refitting, bit of TLC on the paintwork internally and externally and probably best to fill with new fluids and new belts [I'll get hold of them this week]. I've had her running recently but have taken the head and carb off since, and had the engine out for a measure up for a cvh I've sat on my garage floor. However, I reckon it'd be best to start a fresh with the car and refit everything that I know worked last time and start from there. The plan is to put it up for sale after the days tinkering so I might not bother with the X series carbs as I won't see my money back, but here's a previous for sale advert with some photos and further details on the car. retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=FSW&action=display&thread=53408Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. morgs

As a low priority job if anyone fancies a play, my LPG system could do with a a little tune and I'd be glad of the help!

Now, I can't say for Bruce, but I'd like to get the mechanicals looked at as my priority on the saturday. So depending on the time taken on that, perhaps there'll be action on Sunday too [interiors and stuff]. I've certainly got the weekend off, but it's not my gaff and I don't have the keys so we'll have to see ;D

Bruce.. Someone in this thread, or your Area 52 thread in readers other modifications mentioned that a dartboard would be a good addition. I found an old one in the garage earlier, it's a bit undersized at only about a foot across but it'll fit in nicely and has a set of 3 darts with it. It's in the boot and will be donated to Area 52 at the weekend.

Just a quick update: Thank you everyone who is coming/wanting to come - I know it's gonna be a great day ;D If people could possibly bring a few tools with them (spanners, socket set, screwdrivers....the usual basic 'tinkering' tools) I have a welder, some tools and a compressor, jacks, stands etc.... I am hoping that most of the tools won't be needed but it's always good to have them there. Please have a means of identifying your tools if poss? (bit of masking tape with your initials on?) If someone can bring some wiring tools that would be great - multimeter, solder iron, heatshrink, connectors, crimp tool etc....just in case any electrical work needs to be done? Also some brake pipe spanners (whatever they are called?) brake pipe clamps, brake bleeing equip etc....I'm just trying to think of tools I don't have at the unit? FOOD! Please can you all bring a little bit of food? I have purchased some chicken, some bacon and some burgers (enough for about 5-6 people) as well as some biscuits. If you just bring enough food for yourself and/or maybe some biscuits/cakes? I have tea and coffee (must remember the milk!) but if you aren't into that, please bring whatever beverage you need. Although the place is basic, there is running water, so squash is always a good option! I will be PM'ing everyone tonight with directions/details of how to get there and also my number. I am not sure that I'll be able to make it on Sunday? This might have to be a 'one day' affair initially! I've just taken on a rather large contract which has to be carried out during office hours over the next week and half (needs to be completed before I go on holiday on the 12th) This means one of my currents contracts has to be completed out of office hours, so it looks like I might be up to my eyes in emulsion on Sunday! Sorry guys! As well as working on Morgs' Fiesta, there might also be the following jobs going if anyone fancies them? Wiring in a stereo in Grunty's Land Rover, removing the head from HTW's Datto (reserved for Si ), hanging a dartboard (kindly donated by Ben ;D) in the den and testing it out, decorating the den with some old brochures/magazine articles, possibly some work on my Rascal (cam belt, brake pipe felxi's??) and any other jobs that people want doing?? The main focus of the work is obviously Morgs' Fiesta, but only three or four people will be able to work on that at the most at any one time, so it makes sense to see where we can help elsewhere? I think I'm gonna be busy between the BBQ, tea making and generally gettting in everyone's way LOL More details to come this evening and thanks again for the response everyone

Move into accomodation there on the 26th Still hoping to come along to this, will be nice to have a look around the area a bit

This looks like so much fun, at least 3 of my favourite things: food, cars and darts. Bit far away though. I want to see lots of photos

Bruce, Cheers for the invite in the other thread but I will have to regretfully decline due to going to see a potential ride that is 150 miles away on that day!
Good luck! (Oh and redneck has a load of old car mags up for grabs on WCL - you want me to ask him to keep them for you? - I'm sure we can get them from his to yours somehow!)

Thank you all for the responses - I'm getting really excited about this now!
Everyone who has registered an interest in coming to this should have had a PM with direction details now. If not, please let me know?
IT'S NOT TOO LATE!!
If you'd still like to come along, please let me know (leave a response here) and I'll PM you directions. So far it looks like around 15 people will be coming along! A promising start and hopefully a sign of good things to come for Area 52 and the RR people (and their cars!)
