moved the fusebox so as to be at less risk of knocks from passengers after a mate highlighted this issue: Pretty switch fitted for electric fan, really chuffed with it. First pic is off, second is on, red LED on the end looks the sex: And finally for today, courtesy of 76 a nice package arrived in the post:
I used to own a chevvette saloon pby 68w my dad bought for me as a second car he did say he would pay to tax and insure it but never did .I would have liked to have kept it the number plate was almost like haveing a personel plate my initials being pb the car itself was loads of fun top speed of 96 mph on the motorway and a 101 with a slight downhill, I drove it hard every where my mechanic even moaned at me after seeing me drive in to work sadly it failed an mot a year later needing just 2 new sills that my mechanic of the time would have replaced all in for just £200 worst thing is he was a bloody good welder and it would have been hard to tell if he had done them my dad refused to pay the £200 and insisted it was scrapped and after that I never let my dad buy me another car I loved that car slow but fun

Hello, it's been a while but just to update I finally got the carb diaphragm done (harder than it sounds being 100 miles away from the car) and it runs very sweet The old diaphragm looked okay but a bit 'wibbly wobbly' around the edges and was covered in petrol (which I understand it shouldn't be) but popped the new one in and it revved the curse word off it lol, so a little tweaking to throttle and idle speed and shes bang on Didn't get any pics for you because it looks like a carb and we all know what they look like
Then got distracted doing the brake pads on my lovely trusty old bike:
Anyway, back to the car, ready for its MOT now just garaged up in the dry until I get the time and funds... can't wait!
Went home for the weekend and popped round to a chap's off here who had some Chevette parts intending to buy a few little bits- the plan was an alternator and wing mirrors, I ended up with 8 wheels and more carbs than I'll ever need haha.
Anyway, the Astra Mk2 wheels I bought fitted with spacers, polished face, what do you think?
Spacers used:
Some shiny parts I got, K&N (needs a bit of customising but will be going on), polished wing mirrors and a far better rocker cover than the one I have atm (oil filler caps stupidly loose)
A nice roof shot for no apparent reason, 4 doors for the win!

Hoping to put my new shocks on end of this week, Manta A rears and some aftermarket lowered fronts (can't remember the make), hoping with some better shocks the springs will be okay still and should stiffen him up a bit (meant completely innocently).
Also, hoping to clean up and have a look at one of the 175 Stromberg's to give it a bit more poke.
And MOT soon, gave insurance a ring today with very positive quote
Here's a quick Photoshop with the Rostyle's 'shopped on. Need to tidy them up first though, been sitting outside for ages it seems, lotsa surface rust to remove first. What do you think?
Running sweet as a nut (well nearly just gota gap the plugs tomorrow if it ever stops raining). Can I just say, whattttt a car, its great fun to drive on a nice piece of road (not that there's many of those in Britain but hey-ho!).
Anyway taxed tested and a very happy driver
Mike D: I think you're a little far away unfort. Cheers for the offer though but I have a set of Rostyles and Astra Mk2 wheels sitting in my garden waiting for boots.
It comes highly recommended by me, been really good to work on so far, is surprisingly nippy and parts are affordable... the rear wheel drive is pretty fun too
With all due respect, if you're in a good collision with those harnesses they could break your back or, at best, compress your spine so much you'll be in dire sh1t. The shoulder belts should go back about horizontally, 1" above to 4" below your shoulders. If they go down to the floor as you're hit (or you hit something), you will go forward into the belts which will tighten and compress you and the seat downwards arching your back, maybe until it goes into a shape you don't want. Not good! There's a reason the shoulder strap on seatbelts are fastened high on the B pillar.
Cheers for the comments on the harnesses: it had crossed my mind so it's on the list of things to do in time, MOT man did say they should be okay where they are according to some rally diagram :s
Happy Christmas everyone, Hoov got a few presents himself: Retro 8 ball aerial topper
Some genuine 80's Opel/Vauxhall Rally decals
Have a great day Retro Riders!
