Hey man, welcome along! I love the celica-supra, great looking things I think. Took part in dismantling one during the summer and found it to be a great car. Love this pic of yours, looks real cool here Bit of advise though, I'd stick a few details of the car and a few pics up cos the mods don't like the old link only threads and they've a thing about doing the title correct with year, make and model format

Welcome Neil,
What he said above.
An easy way is to go into your car thread, use the "edit " option, then just copy the whole edit section, and paste into this thread, that way everything comes straight over, then you just save the "edited" part on the first site.
Maybe you could even add in the Retro-rides address to the edit and mention that you found a great site... This one.
OK, off to look at your links.

Thanks ever so much for the warm welcome! you don't get that much on other forums, yeah sorry about the links I was being lazy. heres a few pics to make up for it And my mate ernies 7mgte death rocket. stoopidly fast thing, clocked at 168 mph on a runway before, on low boost, dunno what it'll do now? As you can tell we don't like driving them in a straight line! I've had 2 bmw e36's (320 and 328) and a nissan s13 so used to sporty rwd cars, but theres something about this £200 japanese car that just ticks every box and I will never sell it. every time I get out of it I feel like burt reynolds baby! I may in future be buying a bmw 635 csi and putting a 840csi v8 in it and coliovers, then turning it into a drift car, but for the now the supras the daily driver, drift car. I promised myself no more turbo money pits so will see how long the 5mge lasts. Once again, thaqnks for the warm welcome, I forsee drinking a lot of tea reading all the projects, theres some seroisly cool cars on here! heres what I based it on anyhow. guessed the paint to be as close to the Ae86 my colour is lexus briarwood pearl, so its different in every light, Best thing is it also cost me £200 for the paint, sprayjob was free ;D

Thanks hong kong, i was looking in awe at your celica last night Now thats an amazing retro toyota if i ever seen one! Aaah, you may be able to help me, I'm having a major ball ache with suspension at the moment, and you old one looks soo right at that ride height. could you let me in on the spring /damper combo you used? was it chopped std springs or coilover? After fitting tokiyo hp dampers and 550 lb/ft springs i seem to have messed it up so gunna hopefully get some proper nissan s13 coilovers and modify them to fit the supra struts by cutting them down and having them threadedso i got seperate ride height to spring tension. only got minimal travel at the moment. Stay tuned as in october its getting some new wheels to fill the arches and give me some much needed grip. Compomotive ML'S 1590. (15 x 9") et -14 front /et-24 rear, should look good

Sorry to say,but they were cut springs but, being shorter stiffened them up slightly and it handled excellently with them. The biggest difference in stiffening mine up though without losing the ability to drive over bumps was replacing the massive sidewall 225/60s with the much lower profiles 205/50 15's. Tat made a hell of a difference. Push your car from the side and watch how much the car moves on them sidewalls! That's gone with 50 series. Maybe your spring rates need to be a little less?

Welcome to the club, looks like your old girl needed a fair bit of welding, the only comfort i can offer is they are all the common placed that they rust

Ever since I first saw one of these back in the 80's (in 2 tone blue) I have been in love with them. To me, it's these and the wide body Starion's that are just so right on the eye. Perfect examples of the Japanese getting things spot on in the 80's. It looks like you've got a real good'n there and nice work on getting the crusty bits sorted and the whole thing looking neat. Love the wheels - they really look at home. The whole car sits really well....and whenever people talk about stance, you obviously paid attention because you've nailed it. I know this is a long shot (VERY long shot) and I pretty much know what the answer will be, but I don't suppose you'd be interested in selling the original wheels would you??
