35mm springs will probably not lower it at all (experience) try to find a pair of megane 1 1.9 td lowering springs ,PI makes them . they do fit with a little brute force and they will be about 10-15mm loose between the top and bottom spring cups . the weight of the car will take care of that however. and this the drop you get with them lowering the rear is probably going to be a pita assuming the bars would be rusted stuck . should be closed type rear axle on the 1.4 ,so with a bit of luck they may free easier .

Have been driving around with my new water pump for over a week Also put new stabilizer bar (outer) bushings Still having a cold starting problem...And theres a annoying squeak in the rear suspension when theres more weight on it that one person. But otherwise it's a very good runner

Heh, this was my mum's first car when she passed her test around 9 years ago. She had the 11, 1.4 auto, in green with beige interior. All I remember about it was, it was comfy, and the worst starter in the world. it NEVER ever started first time, sometimes taking upto 2 pr 3 minutes of cranking to work lol. Sadly, some old coger smashed into the back of it when it was parked and destroyed it She then bought a MK2 Golf after that ;D

a realy nice Motor you have. could you tell me where do you get your new Headlights? My Renault's headlights are made by "DENJI" www.denji.com/index-1.htm, those don't even have the "e" marking on the glass. But I got them cheap from a online car parts shop. Good Idea OÜ www.acar.ee/ <- choose English from the top-right corner But I've heard that "DEPO" makes lights for older cars also. www.depoautolamp.com/ Then you should look up a DEPO lights dealer. Both "DENJI" & "DEPO" are Taiwan manufacturers I think...

Wagner make them, in both single and twin-filament flavors. --Phil The Renault R9 & Alliance headlights aren't the same. The Alliance mostly had the US standard lights (4"x6"), but the European R9 had bigger lights than the usual 4"x6", but smaller than the 7 7/8"x5 5/8" standard. FFF'n weird lights
