Awesome!! Thats in very good condition considering where its been!! I wonder why thats sooooo much better than the Porsche? Fjord must have been fresh water and had a low acidity/alkaline level which would make sense being in Norway i guess where as the Porsche must have been the opposite...possibly i dunno maybe a chemist can confirm my hypothesis lol

These buses are exceedingly rare - but not THAT rare.... christ, my cars a LOT rarer!
Fascinating story, and fair play to the guy who orchestrated fishing it out. But i'm in the camp of "why bother"... but then I openly don't 'get' the VeeDub madness - it's become like chavs wearing VonDutch clothing.
Still, it's retro, it's being saved, and its not a Mondeo.... so more win than lose
Your car is not 'epic', this thread is not 'epic'....the OCEAN is epic, the UNIVERSE is epic.... please stop misusing this word!!
It would appear Hotrods are the new VWs - aint fashion funny!
That's brilliant. Love stories like this - does remind me of the tank that was pulled out of the swamp in russia - however, that was a swamp - its anaerobic and things don't rust in anaerobic conditions!
I'm amazed by how good it is - i was expecting complete basketcase :-)
This story has got me soo inspired. There is a Maxi on my drive, been there for 5 or so years. All it needs is the bulkhead welded, tyres, lights, and windows. I'm sooooooooooo tempted! It still starts on the button and spins over like a top, schweeeet engine. DAMMIT! Rat-look rally-lookalike Maxi FTW?
I for one am glad it's been fished out and even more glad that it's being restored. I don't care what it is - but it's just a classic being kept on the road. One more of any classic is a good thing. Value doesn't come into the equeation in this head of mine.

Have a look at GS Autoworks Facebook page, it's more amazing than Sexual Healing!
If you aquatic fetishists want to see what Mr. Happy looks like when it's been underwater for a long time, perhaps we could arrange to Raise The Titanic after all. ;D
