FWD one had the starter motor and ring gear on the wrong end of the engine i seem to remember, i had one for a bout 2 days after owning a dolomite and fancying another trumpet, put me right off. I realised the wheels on the pics at the top were fwd jobbies, the blue one further down however does appear to have sprint wheels on it.

Saw the black one on the link at Bromley; revisited a years-old guilty motoring pleasure. Don't care that it's near totally pointless, I want one bad again.

Looks rather like a 1980s Bentley Mulsanne that shrank in the wash. I'm not sure if I like it or not.

Ah i love the Panther Rio! Read up on it a good few years back now after seeing one in a magazine. I seem to recall the external panels all being hand beaten alluminium, hence the rediculous price. Also includes a rediculous walnut dashboard. Was supposed to be a unique rival to Jaguars, but it was smaller and slower. Very stupid idea on the part of Panther, but still could be a very nice car today. Have some old pictures i collected a while back: That one in the first post might be worth salvaging. Alluminium panels means it wont have any rust, just depends on everything underneath. I reckon slamming it and a small lip under the front numberplate would solve that bizarre gap under the front end that makes it look so odd in my eyes. Looks really nice on the minilite - esque wheels and a dark paint job.

Alloy panels grafted onto a steel shell could have corroded quite badly though I'm struggling to remember my high school chemistry lessons so can't explain why. I don't think the styling is as neat as the standard Dolly personally. It's interesting as a curiosity though.

Alloy panels grafted onto a steel shell could have corroded quite badly though I'm struggling to remember my high school chemistry lessons so can't explain why. Galvanic corrosion. Water would act as an electrolye between the two metals of different reactivities, causing it to act like a battery and the alloy to corrode. Potentially, depending on what protection the alloy had in the first place. EDIT: Haha, battery, potentially.... I'll get my coat And this is all from what I remember of chemistry at school, so I could be talking curse word

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

More to the point.
Isn't that a Datsun N10 Estate/Van variant in the background ? Surely that has to be one of maybe 2-3in the country ?

You beat me to it! A much lower start price than it was offered for last time 2-3 years ago. Maybe it'll find a loving (and tasteless) owner this time! Steve

If I had the choice between this and a Dolomite I'd have this all day long, no question about it. I hope it finds someone who has the will and ability to get it sorted and doesn't become one of those cars that's just passed around.
