With the good weather we have been having over the last week down here I have managed to get a bit more done, First thing I did was to finish off the drivers door, after much playing around I got the locking mechanism to work. Drilled holes for the mirror, and gave everything a good coat of waxoil. Also earlier this week, I put the rear Hi-lo's in, although they still need a bit of adjusting to get the same ride height on both sides. At the same time I put on some koni adjustable shocks. (those aren't the wheels I'm using, they are just on so i could see which wheel arches to use) Ash.

some great touches there mate, i really like the wheels and white. did you change your disks then? or get some of those special 10s that just fit over the 8.4s? love the van grill aswell, personaly id change the rear lights to older units without reverse lights if you can find some, which is what I'm tryin to do to mine.

That does look really smart.
1 thing to keep in mind re sock mini hubcaps, only ft them if that is the way you are going to stay as you will scratch your rims fitting/removing them. All fine if they are staying, but if you change your mind afterwards, you'll want some touch in.
And a set of Mk2 rear lights would be ace

That's a great looking Mini! Hard to decide between hubcaps and chrome bolts / centres... I think I'd go for hubcaps. Them bullet centres might look a bit too "hotrod" for a Mini. Love the roof lining too!

Well, not many updates recently, but i have been fairly busy. First off, on the way back from the retro rides cornish meeting at the end of february, we got pulled over by some guy in a pickup truck who told us that our front wheels were wobbling all over the place, this seemed odd considering I couldnt feel it through the steering wheel Turned out it was the old wheels had a centre bore that was too small for the new brakes. so that was fairly easy to fix. ;D Next up, when I changed the wheels over to the new banded steels, I found that two out of four of the wheel studs on the passenger rear side hub were pretty much buggered! So as the bearings werent sounding too good either, I took a spare hub off my spare subframe and put that on. Old one off: New one on: Lastly, ive been making all the templates for my dash liner and the dash trays. So I've started with these plastic place mats: Melt them into a line using an old solering iron, Alot of stickers (this is only the left over ones): Alot of cutting and sticking later: still needs a little trimming, but fits well and should be a bit different Ash.

This is just fapping fantastic. Excellent work ash. Are there any sort of rounded style polished stainless arches available. I think that they would look the business, rather than black or body coloured plastic/'glass.

that looks fantastic now, nice to see something different done to a mini and it really works! I'm thinking a red pinstripe down the side could work well?

What a great first car you've got there! My first car was a 70's Mini 850cc. Not a patch on yours but I still chucked in the usual steering column lowering bracket and wide 10's. Brilliant first cars that handle amazingly well. Keep up with the updates fella.

Been fairly busy recently again, got the dash fitted in: (still need to carpet the bottom sections) Fitted the arches: Not sure whether to keep them black now that they are fitted, I'm kind of liking them, they do have a chrome trim that goes on them, its just not fitted yet. Also, I re covered my door cards with some black vinyl: Proper happy with how these came out! ;D MOT tomorrow, I'm not really expecting it to pass though, but you never know... Ash
